That sounds like an answer typically provided by another Canadian Chapala Expert!

Of course he is. The real question is the name of the right fielder.

Not hard to say at all.....it was 23 years and 7 months ago, but not these kind. They were the old, put in the money, crank the dial, individual to each parking space, meters. They came and went with the change of presidentes del municipio..... back in the days when we had 3 more "ceros" attached to our money, so I suppose a parking ticket was $10,000. pesos.....Great huh?

I hope you all realize that there are TWO Mike the computer guys at lakeside. I always use the honest one, as the other one can't be trusted. As far as I know they do not look alike, but only have seen the dishonest one from a distance. I always thought somebody should do a name change but I don't know which came first....the chicken or the egg?

Don't forget, that's SIX pesos per hour, not 60.CheenaGringo wrote:Honestly Folks! When Jim W first made this post 110 posts ago and 3000+ views, it was about part of the new parking zones having enforcement when a number of media publications had declared or announced there was a moratorium until April 8th. It is quite apparent that any number of residents consider these new policies to be just another negative adjustment to their assumed lifestyle. Good Grief! $60MXN per hour is certainly enough to turn my life upside down!

Re: CHAPALA PARKING TICKETS
Of all the wiggy threads on here, this one is approaching the prize.
I still haven't figured out how you can park you car, run down to the nearest ticket dispenser and avoid getting a ticket if somebody is waiting to pounce when you leave your car. I rather liked the old fashioned meters where there was one per parking space, right in front of your car. So there are little kids who will run down for you and get your ticket.........or just run off with your pesos? Not exactly a solution.
Sounds like the municipality is getting the short end of the stick. Back in the states, parking fees were very lucrative for the cities. This sounds lucrative for the meter company. Someone's cousin?
What a mess.

LOL...if you asked what I did last week, you wouldn't be so impressed.
Ahhh! yes!...those were the good ole days when one US buck would get you 2,500 pesos, the banks were paying 50 to 60 % interest on savings accounts, and Orville League was sitting on a chair at a card table on the sidewalk in front of the AWL office in Chapala with a suitcase full of dollars buying pesos. He was the only game in town, going THAT way.
Geezus, I'm going on like the Dawg....I better quit.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! You forgot the boot!!! So, the kid you give a couple of pesos to that runs off to buy dulces and gives you up to the parking meter police and they put a boot on your car that costs . . . what? . . . a couple of hundred bux to get off? Plus ticket? What a friggin' mess! aaarrgghhh
Yeah yeah, somebody's friggin' brother in law owns the meter company - count on that. Think I'll end up parking at Parque Cristiana and walking to the mercado until they get this figured out. Hopefully it will go the way of many things Mexican. . .ride off into the sunset one day leaving everyone saying - what ever happened to that law about having to change license plates, what happened to that camera system thing, what happened to those preprogramed cell phones, what happened to those guard dogs, what happened to having to register your cell phone, what happened to changing the design of Jalisco plates and everyone having to pay to get the new ones??? and so on

Re: CHAPALA PARKING TICKETS
There is always double parking at the meter, jumping out of the car, putting 10 pesos (approx. 1hr and 40 minutes worth)getting your ticket, then driving
around till you find a spot.

It's 6 pesos for 10 minutes, they would be ummm...$36.00 an hour.
