Why not just compare them PER 100,000 citizens across all countries... click on the CHOOSE DATA box above the listing of countries...
https://covid19info.live/
However, to get the REAL truth, you would have to compare the TESTING of citizens...

Re: More on the virus
And wuddabout the much higher than average virus and death rates for those living in low income black and hispanic areas? Now 4 dead with race and justice riots too. You can keep it. If I was American I would be thinking of scrapping it, and starting all over again. U.S.A. 2.0 upgrade please.

HoneyBee wrote:Funny the way your lambasting the US. Maybe you should also check the death toll for France, UK, Spain, Italy and Brazil. Ops I forgot, that really does not fit your agenda.
Yeah, who are you talking to?
So are you´re saying the US is doing better than those countries?
I don´t think so.

This is childish. “My country is better than your country” will never get us anywhere.

Re: More on the virus
A few weeks ago I compared the population of Italy with that of the U.S. And the density of population, which is even more telling. This was when Italy was showing the largest number of cases. Those answers are very telling.
The pop. density is strikingly similar. Today, with 60 million people and 230,000 cases, they are still slightly higher per capita, but not much.
So let's look at their biggest city, Milan. 1.3 million people. 23,000 cases. Biggest city in the US? New York. 8.5 million. 203,000 cases. Not quite 10 times the people; not quite 10 times the number of cases. Density is all.
Those who against distancing and masks need to pay attention, that's what these figures mean to me.

Re: More on the virus
Rome with 2.9 million people has more than twice the population of Milan. Approx. 8000 cases in metro Rome.

Re: More on the virus
The US death toll is mitigated by the 1 in 5 Americans aged 65+ (only India & Japan have that high % of aged.) Together with excessive pharmaceutical rx for many chronic diseases, especially heart/vascular, it has been a perfect storm.. Hospitals were financially rewarded to put Covid on death certificates=doubled Medicare reimbursement. w $39,000 paid if ventilator involved. Many deaths in covid stats died of something else, but were 'presumptive' pos. Autopsies done in Italy are surfacing forensic evidence that cause of death was thrombosis - massive clotting - that caused organ failure. (A friend is checking w a doctor in Italy to see if this is fake news..) So in addition to the debacle which happened in NYC, essentially no PPE in hospitals, on streets, potentially treating the wrong disease.. who KNOWS what the true # is. But just saying this American RN is back to taking a 1/2 a regular aspirin every day or so.. thin my blood, which is thick anyway due to our mile high altitude Lakeside, where the body naturally makes more RBCs to enhance oxygen carrying capacity. If the virus spikes are essentially plugging in where an oxygen molecule is supposed to be & somehow causing DVT, organ hypoxia, etc. that could be why people are not developing immunity & get it a second time... and perhaps why vaccine dev for SARS type corona virus difficult at best. The numbers in Mexico aren't reliable because they don't test, wanna look bad, scare people, deter tourism. The numbers are high in USA cause the hospitals & doctors wanted the money & some states are offering free testing.. which leads to discovery of cases.. So just keep drinking - it thins your blood too!

You are right, of course. Sorry, I was looking at an "infected" map that showed Milan but not Rome. Didn't even think.

I'm not gonna argue that there is some of that, but I kinda need you to show me some proof, because your statement sounds an awful lot like a conspiracy theory.

Your post reeks of conspiracy theory. This virus results all kinds of myriad symptoms and seems to cause different effects in different people. Just because someone died of a blood clot, doesn't mean they didn't get that blood clot because they were infected with COVID, if indeed they tested positive. So yes, of course it should be counted as a COVID death. Many AIDS patients died of pneumonia- they wouldn't have died of pneumonia if their immune system hadn't been destroyed by AIDS. Therefore the reason they died was AIDS.
Any deaths wrongly attributed to COVID are likely balanced out by the number of COVID deaths various places are keeping secret.

Re: More on the virus
If you like conspiracy theories look into the anti-hydroxychloroquine movement. The prestigious Lancet published an article against the use of HCQ and immediately more than 100 doctors published a letter criticizing the way the study was done. WHO and the CDC used this study to urge cancellation of all studies being done on HCQ. The Lancet has acknowledged problems with the study but did not fully retract.

I got puzzled where you got the statistics; From population distribution point of view US looks much healthier nation comparing to Japan or Italy.
https://www.prb.org/countries-with-the-oldest-populations/
How many days or years have you stayed in the lakeside? If you have stayed over a month, your blood conditions should have gone back to normal.
