I had a 78yo brother-in-law who stroked out. His wife rushed him to the hospital. After a couple of days a spokesperson said there was not much that they could do for him and sent him home. He died at home a few days later. The mandate to admit patients doesnt seem to work.

You’re talking of mandating hospitals to admit covid-19 patients and I’m pointing out that they follow their own rules and mandates will not work.

It hasn’t been mentioned and I am not a doctor but there is a condition called thrombocytopenic purpura in which emboli start forming in all parts of the body. This would show up as finger oxygen sensors showing low oxygen saturations but the patient not exhibiting any distress usually associated with it. Children in Italy were found with frostbite-like lesions on their toes. The paper by that doctor in New Orleans said they were starting to use tpa. That is a thrombolytic agent used to break up clots. This condition would also cause diminishing platelet count and havoc throughout the body.

I like to post links when I come across something of interest. It is a way of confirming information for myself... and hopefully others. Reading what someone heard or has an opinion on is not the same (for me) even though I value that person's opinion and insight.

Mexico is reporting 10,544 confirmed cases this morning. Thats an increase of 1074. Biggest one day increase yet.
The number of confirmed cases has doubled in the past week.

I’m so afraid of the economic impact on middle class Mexicans. In the fable of the grasshopper and ants Mexicans practice the role of the grasshopper. Most spend the money as soon as they get it and most have done well the last 20 years or so but pretty soon they’ll be selling properties and other assets to try to continue their lifestyle.

I’ve heard Mexicans talk of past pandemics so most of them are afraid but not yet because no one in their neighborhood has died. Once Mexicans start to panic then all hell breaks loose. They don’t trust the health system like Americans do.
