Re: More on the virus
Local hospitals here in s. Texas are furloughing a lot of nurses. They are shutting down non-essential care.

I don't know many details, it is a about 45 year old male, here visiting from California, got here a little over a week ago. Not sure when he had the first symptoms, but he may have been to at least two of the clinics here. No telling how many people he has been around. The locals are a bit upset that the first they heard was the official report today, although a few drug reps were texting the news to a couple of the pharmacists last night.
Thanks for this, LG. Very interesting.
The 2 different graphs I saw last night are now showing 2 covid19 pts in Tizapan. Do you know anything about the second victim?
Stay safe!

Re: More on the virus
Trailrunner, I do not know anything about the second case except the neighborhood were the person lives( both cases are located a fair distance from us). We have been pretty much self isolating the last few weeks already, my husband is very susceptible to stuff, me not so much, boy do I miss the housekeeper!!
The city send a truck with a loudspeaker out several times yesterday, telling people to mostly stay home, etc. We did go to Bodega Aurrera this morning, I went in, with mask and gloves, they have a desk blocking easy access with an employee taking temperatures, sanitizer and wipes are being handed out.
Had to stop at my local Vet, he has the door mostly blocked off and you have to step into a solution to clean shoes, only one person allowed in. Most people do wear masks, are trying to keep distance from each other
So good to know folks are being cautious, and we are staying home now except for walking the dogs early in the morning. Front gate stays locked, our housekeeper came yesterday, I paid her till the middle of May , then we will see. Even she stayed outside the gate, and that totally confused the dogs!

Re: More on the virus
Thank you, LG, for your reports from Tizapan. Muy amable. I am sad for Tizapan, such a great town always love visiting, cruising around, talking to everyone, practicing English with the kids in the park (such eager learners), sitting by the river, shopping for clothes and eating ceviche at the restaurant on Ramon Corona. Always a good day in Tizapan. Be safe!

Now that’s a significant jump! Would be interesting to get reports from those working in hospitals in DF.

In this link, hover over a municipality to see how many confirmed cases there are there.

Re: More on the virus
I just read in the Mexican news that the Minister of Health is accusing some States, I think Baja Californa and others to either misreport or be a week behind in the reporting so it sounds like the number are way under reported. No surprise there.
That map is great but behind.. They reported a case after Easter in Venustiano Carranz after the Easter procession and it shows zero, I notices otehr municipalities that I have trevelled and heard about cases that are unreported as well..

The map is missing a case in Teocuitatlan also on the south side of the lake. But does have the two recorded in Tizazan el Alto.

Re: More on the virus
Dr. Carlos Garcia, who dropped by the house today mentioned of 3 or 4 cases he knew about lakeside, one was on the south side of the lake, another on the East end of the lake, and another in a small city between here and Guadalajara. One of these three cases apparently included both a husband and wife, therefore four cases, but at three locations.
Of course there are many more cases in Guadalajara.

Re: More on the virus
Ok. We already know about 3 or 4. Two at Tizapan, one in like Ocotlan or La Barca, and the other one or two you mentioned Pete. So, we're holding good right here. For now.

Re: More on the virus
Sounds like Mexico needs to mandate that all private hospitals are to receive CV patients regardless of their ability to pay. There must be 20 or 30 in CDMX......those hospitals rake it in during normal times.

Re: More on the virus
I had a 78yo brother-in-law who stroked out. His wife rushed him to the hospital. After a couple of days a spokesperson said there was not much that they could do for him and sent him home. He died at home a few days later. The mandate to admit patients doesnt seem to work.
