More on the virus

I was at the hospital in San Antonio to see my Doc for my physical. And I am doing fine for my age.

I asked if there were any reported Corona Virus patients in the area. I was told that although a few had been tested, so far no one has tested positive for the virus.

I am sure that it will be here. I just hope it comes late :)

1378 confirmed cases in Mexico this morning.

Not counting the what must be more thousands who were, or were not, treated or died while never being tested.

My neighbors are getting antsy and are staying home in the daytime, except for the ones that are still working - mostly construction teams, but wandering out at night more. Looks like the families are again cruising over to the plaza in the evenings. Where they will gather!

On the bright side, every day that we wake up symptom-free means we were not exposed or infected 2 weeks prior when things were still up in the air and we didn't take such dire precautions. Right?

Right. Unfortunately it will likely be a worker from Guadalajara that brings it here. I know lots of Mexicans who commute to work there. Many take the buses.....there are 99 cases in Jalisco. I imagine most are in Guadalajara with a few in PV.

Which means we are going to be living like this for many months to come. We haven't even reached the outbreak stage yet.

This does not bode well for Mexico.  Obesity & diabetes are considered epidemiologic crises already =56 million mexicans are obese & diabetes is often a secondary condition. Thx Coca Cola. Because so many young Mexicans are fat, whole families will be taken down simultaneously. They are talking about it being worse here than Italy.. And w healthcare infrastructure largely non-existent.. It all happened in NOLA in just 5 weeks.  Holy Week is here, week 1 if you will..Week 5 will be Cinco de Mayo ~ there will be no celebration of victory..

Mexico now reporting 1510 confirmed cases. There are 50 deaths. 3.3% fatality rate........so far.

The US is by far the one getting hammered the most. Over 25,000 new c cases in the past 24 hours giving them a total of over 260,000 confirmed cases.......WOW. The other countries with high numbers are starting to slow down in the number of new cases.
