Finally, someone brought a gun to a gun fight.
This paper acknowledges the presence of inflammation and homeostasis abnormalities but there is a lot to be learned as to how to treat it.

Exactly, JR! What a complicated disease process and what a difficult disease to treat!

This paper was sent to me by a non-medical friend who believed my first report and dug until he found this. I told him it was like the planet said - you humans are killing me, gotta get rid of you! And the universe said - here, hold my beer.

I'm all in favor of "saving the planet". IMHO, This can be best done by having regulations that are people-oriented rather than business-friendly. I am not in favor of saving the planet by than killing off the human population. Anyone who is ....I have to wonder about their priorities.

Obviously bumans do not have the capacity to manage the planet intelligently. SO how is reality shown to them to help guide them.

Humans were doing a fair enough job until the current administration gutted all the environment-friendly regulations in keeping their promise to "drain the swamp". HAH. I see larger alligators than before. To show your capacity to manage the planet....vote. The current death toll should be enough guidance.

We got our first case in Cameron County in a town 20 miles away March 16. Today we have 569 cases. This is with freely available testing with only one symptom required.

We're lucky to live where the sun shines most of the time. Under normal circumstances, supposedly 10-30 minutes of sunlight daily on your skin is sufficient to provide enough vitamin D. Somewhat longer if you have darker skin. Of course, if you don't go out without sunscreen, that's going to block the absorption, so you'd need supplements, but if you're a sun worshipper sans sunscreen, you'd likely get enough vit.D.
Personally, skin cancer is not on my list of health issues to worry about, as I have olive skin, am careful not to get burnt, am 70 years old, and have never worn sunscreen in my life.

You should test your Vit. D level anyway. My D , B12 , and magnesium levels were low. Our bodies get out of wack easily as we age.

Say that again. LOUDER.
Even if you are outside in the sunshine, your body still needs Magnesium to make the Vitamin D work. And magnesium is very helpful in pain management as well.

My friend who dug this paper up also dug deeper on the author of my original article and found him to be a Canadian rght-wing Trudeau hater. This second link is much better, disregard my original as it lacks proper medical reference. It does, however, provide good food for thought.

Yes, true dat. I also take a calcium/magnesium liquid supplement that includes Vit.D. Aids with sleep as well, so good to take it right before bed.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/drug-promoted-by-trump-as-coronavirus-game-changer-increasingly-linked-to-deaths/ar-BB149p3m

And to Mainecoons and Hook 'em Horns... you guys who still believe that this is an effective method of countering Covid-19 can put your money where your mouth is by ASKING for this therapy if you find yourself infected and hospitalized.

I am not a follower of president Mophead but to be fair there is yet to be a fair scientific study on the use of hydroxychloroquine. The recent studies have been on patients already in critical condition and some already on ventilators. This drug and other antiviral drugs have got to be given ASAP and even before symptoms appear. This drug also has to be given in combination with azythromycine and zinc. There’s a lot of misinformation and biases out there and lots of money influencing these decisions. We might have to look to Costa Rica and other countries to get a clearer picture.

That is good news that in your county anyone can get a test with one symptom. I had read last week that Texas ranked 46th for testing and that was discouraging. But the good news this week is Texas is now ranked 45th. Maybe Gov. Abbott has done the math.

Only 32 have been done in the country and only 2 in Arizona. They probably did it because he is a doctor. This is an impractical solution. What seems more practical is infusing plasma from those who have developed antibodies against covid-19.

Yep, agree.
I like the plasma infusion idea too. Hope it works. Forget ECMO.

I know it's not practical but I am amazed none the less considering his condition.
The infusion of plasma containing antibodies has its own complications. It must still be cross matched with the patient for best results since it is a blood based product.

Plasma infusion is done everyday in most hospitals. All the kinks have been worked out. There are personnel everywhere who can do it.
Many years ago(about 30) my son developed thrombocytopenia and he was infused with gamma globulin which cured him. So this plasma infusion solution is nothing new. If you saw an ECMO setup you would see the huge difference in approach.

It hasn’t been promoted. There are thousands recovered cases here and abroad. If they were to search these people and promote this solution it would be like constructing a simulated herd immunity. I only hear about those who offer themselves as donors so I never hear what the end result is except for one successful case that was presented.

Extra corporeal membrane oxygenation. Same as the heart lung machine they use for cardiac surgery except that the chest is not opened so they drain the blood from the femoral vein, oxygenate it, and pump it back through the femoral artery. The flows are not as high because the lungs are still being ventilated so it’s called partial bypass as compared to full bypass during cardiac surgery.
