At some point we have to go from avoidance to facing it and having a game plan. An important part is talking to your doctor and define a strategy when symptoms appear.

Strategy kinda needs to be done WAY before symptoms show up.  Not bragging on, but 3 months ago, when CV became a public health issue vis a vis quarantine, I got a blood panel, reviewed it w my doctor, discussed my current meds, asked what I might do extra. He suggested bumping up vitamin D, zinc, B12.  (All in the news now..) Also, recommended buying a nebulizer, to use w some meds, just in case.  Got it + aerosolizing mask & saline for diluting meds. Not expensive. After 30 days of extra vitamins, did another blood draw, just to see. Two months of extra exercise, 1x day ~ stamina & lung capacity bueno. Sleep better too, helps the crisis fatigue of keeping track of this disease. So my plan is to be an asymptomatic carrier, one of the 50%, not a hospitalized case. I will wear my mask around others, limit my 'high risk' behaviors (going to the grocery.. LOL) & as needed, do nasopharyngeal neti to reduce viral load as required. Best I can do. Next up: dengue.. geez, at least u can see it - the striped legs..srsly not doing that one again.

***
If your game plan includes convalescent plasma therapy, getting a baseline blood profile now is probably a good idea. Identifying blood centers doing it & if you qualify as a candidate. Donated antibody blood plasma has to match blood type too. Does Medicare cover it? Anything you find out about these centers in Texas doing it, be interested in hearing more ~

I should have written “FOR when symptoms appear”
Califirl, I’m taking all those supplements you mentioned plus selenium, elderberry juice, Vit. C., CoQ10, magnesium and occ glass of wine for medicinal purposes. Still looking for quercetin and acetylcisteine(NAC)
As I mentioned before, the plasma centers in this area are advertising for donors who have had covid19 and there have been 17 transfusions with successful outcomes in this area.

Watch it double every week until it hits its peak. Maybe even faster given the lack of contact tracing, mask wearing and social distancing by a lot of the locals there.

The demographic breakdown was - of the eight, six were male, one woman in late fifties, and two teens. The rest were twenty-somethings. So, the biggest group yesterday to be diagnosed yesterday were males in their twenties.

I read this whole article and it took a while to do it. Wow, talk about sour grapes. No good deed goes unpunished.
Out of curiosity, I googled the Corbett Report...
https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/the-corbett-report/

I imagine somewhere in its distant past, there's an article about the control that computers would have over our lives and to never use one.
Conspiracy bullshit... all of it.
And, for the record, if a microchip would get me through an airport faster, where do I get one.
Sheesh!!!

I know you did by the comment made about MC. But, it was important to read it to realize where MC and some others on TOB get their delusional ideas.

You do realize that the Colbert Report was a satire put on by Stephen Colbert. This was not meant was real news.

Was out in the hood visiting with neighbors
Apparently, one of them has been experiencing loss of taste and smell for 3 days. Went to doc, I don't know outcome. Isn't that one of the symptoms of the virus?

We got our first case in Cameron county, Texas mid March. On Memorial Day we were running about 10-20 a day. Stores and restaurants opened and everybody went to the beach. Yesterday we had 39 cases for a total of 892. This 3-county area has 1000 tests available every day.

Yes, 20 out of 59 pts with the new virus showed the symptoms but flu and/or standard? cold may affect the similar symptoms.

I have had way more than my fair share of colds, sore throats and earaches in the first 50 years of my life following the pattern of 1) sore throat going to 2) sinuses to 3) chest involvement with cough. I'd say about half the time that it involved the loss of taste and smell. So, don't panic yet but DO get to a Doctor quickly to get tested to make sure.
I can also tell you that I have had ONE slight cold in the last twenty years since I started taking 2000 I.U. vitamin D3 daily.
