Re: Murder in Jocotepec
In medical terms "dislocado" would apply to a joint not an entire extremity.
Desprendido definitely means it was detached from the body. Ick.

Re: Murder in Jocotepec
1. The arm was removed by a very clean circular cut. It was not broken off (fact).
2. It was apparently the result of some drunken argument which led to a fight (no one may ever know all the details).
3. The authorities caught who did it in a matter of just a few hours.
4. It is not likely that many people personally know how hard the investigators work on solving crimes here. They work many, and often late hours, and are awoken in the middle of the night to go out and investigate crimes. They do not make a lot of money for what they do. That said, the office of the Ministerio Publico feels it is important that they are better enabled to communicate with the foreign population. The agents of the office (I think there are 7?) are going to be taking formal English classes. The classes will be paid, but they are in Guadalajara. There is still a need for transportation to GDL and other related expenses. If anyone is interested in contributing to this, please contact me.

Possible contract with the state may already exist for these classes? Just a thought.

Re: Murder in Jocotepec
I already discussed the option of teaching in Chapala. The office has a specific place they want to teach (likely due to topics and terminology).

Re: Murder in Jocotepec
Since Dr. Sam works at Cruz Roja (and works closely with the police in his capacity), his reports are generally considered to be several grades above rumor. He lets people know as much as he can. Seldom is his source one of the things he can reveal.

Re: Murder in Jocotepec
The coroner report said he was drunk and fell in the kitchen and hit his head and bleed a lot. Also there was vomit. Because there was blood there was an investigation.
I think also because of the recent murders in la floresta there is much ado nada.

If you are so connected that you are seeing the coroner´s reports, you don´t need web board information.

So you are saying that this has gone from a "strangulation and arm severing" murder to a drunken self induced accident?

And the location from under a trailer to inside a kitchen.CanuckBob wrote:vetteforron wrote:The coroner report said he was drunk and fell in the kitchen and hit his head and bleed a lot. Also there was vomit. Because there was blood there was an investigation.

Re: Murder in Jocotepec
First I have heard good things about Dr. Sam.
I was there 20 feet away. There was no arm under the class a motor home. The owners of the park were in contact with the coraner office. My scorce. John was a drunk which had fell and broke ribs before.

Re: Murder in Jocotepec
Were there two arms attached to the victim? Or was there maybe one on the kitchen floor or somewhere?

While TOB may profess to dispense more useful information you've got to appreciate the value of cheap entertainment provided by this board with it's ability to allow any information/rumor.

Re: Murder in Jocotepec
Let's add this to the mix. A two-day-old Milenio story identifies the deceased as John Paul Ateel, age 76. The story says his left arm was mutilated and the body has been taken to the forensics lab for autopsy, results of which are pending. The story also says that some of Ateel's belongings were found in a car parked nearby. Hmmm.......
