Not to make light of a serious subject but that translated headline caused me to do a double-take.
"Dead alien found in Jocotepec"
Yes, it makes perfect sense - but still...

not really. I guess it may have happened in the trailer park resort and I really do not know what it is called.but it looks strange.

Re: Murder in Jocotepec
Someone on TOB said "He was an alcoholic and ran with a bad crowd." That was the entire post. So much for sympathy and compassion.

Re: Murder in Jocotepec
If the man was a known alcoholic running in a bad crowd it can explain what happened to him. If this is correct it explains the crime, not everyone who is killed is a saint, sometimes bad things happen to people who are helpless and have bad friends.

Re: Murder in Jocotepec
You're right, Bob. I asked Susan to look at the original and she said it indicates that it was broken - possibly dislocated - but NOT detached from the body.
That fits better with the apparent cause of death and is likely a defensive injury.

The original press report says the left arm was "desprendido," which means detached in English.

Correct, it definitely means it was detached from the body, whether that was what was what the reporter meant to say or not.Smartalex wrote:The original press report says the left arm was "desprendido," which means detached in English.

Re: Murder in Jocotepec
A friend here in Joco told me that the man owned and/or operated a bar with "working" girls and that the belief was that the cut off arm meant he had failed to pay somebody off.
Take that for what it's worth.

Re: Murder in Jocotepec
In medical terms "dislocado" would apply to a joint not an entire extremity.
Desprendido definitely means it was detached from the body. Ick.
