Multiple murder in Chapala .... again

Nobody has posted about the shooting at a taco stand 2 blocks from Soriana where 5 were shot and 3 killed?

No this isn´t the Canadian killed last week or the 4 shot in Chapala the week before, it is hard to keep straight all the shootings.

But yes I feel safer here, NOT, maybe you would if you came from a gang infested area but come on, I have NEVER lived anywhere in the world where so many people have been murdered within a 1 mile radius of my home (2 would have been a record), let alone in a 10 day span!

Now can we admit there is a problem?

Sure there is a problem. It isn't the first and won't be the last. I recall the shoot out in front of your office a few years ago and the grenade fight on the caraterra. Time for the mayor to seek help from the state and federal police. They can setup the military check point in west Ajijic again. Stay safe and keep your head down.

I wouldn't doubt this one is related to the other one in Chapala a few weeks ago too.

The only time I've lived in a crime infested area was in San Pedro, CA, in the "better section" of town up on the hill.  Aside from the Rodney King riots, there were regular carjackings and a goodly number of violent crimes.  It was a very convenient location for my husband's job in L.A., but after the riots, we soon relocated to a less handy but less dangerous location.  I hate to contemplate a re-run of 2012 !

I think there are two separate problems right now. The first appears to be gang problems in Chapala that will probably spread to other areas around here unless it gets stamped out by a serious show of force. The second is drug addicted youths looking for a fix. These are the crazy ones that shoot people for no apparent reason (or poorly attempted muggings) and try to jack cars in broad daylight on crowded streets. I'm not sure how they approach this problem.

These have been going on for a while but no one was paying attention to the murders of Mexicans.. Many of the gang of 6 esquinas were killed a few years ago and there was plenty of shooting and kidnapping going around, now it is in Chapala .. nothing new.. This things come and go.  am surprised that Spencer all of a sudden realizes that when it The druggies also have been around, all of a sudden they are waking up again but the guy who killed the man on Donato Guerra a few years ago was high as a kite as well . Again nothing new

So is the vigilante group going to have memorials for these murder victims too? They're going to busy.

That is something you should ask the Chapala Crime group on FB.

Reality is what is causing some of them over there to be almost hysterical. It seems some have never seen or heard of gang shootouts and deranged meth heads before. One thing we can probably all agree on is we need a way stronger police presence around here. I'm surprised we haven't seen one yet. They need to sweep the cockroaches back under the carpet......

srsly, what is happening here is no different than what is going on in LA, Oakland, Orange co, other metro areas = gangs & drugs. The bumper cars event Trainrunner mentioned IS pretty bizarre, but so was that day @ Perico... We are not immune.. New white refugees not helping - many seem to have NEVER traveled outside their country of origin & want momentary thrill or replication. small Robin Hood bands can't help but equalize..  Murder as a solution or unintended outcome is not something I have much familiarity.  But civilizations, countries & government covert operations have proven otherwise & suggest MO will continue..

CBob. I can't get my head around your arguement regarding meth heads. drug addicts in general and firearms. I don't see them using them because they don't have them. If they stumbled over one they'd immediately sell it, turn it over to their dealer to buy more shit, etc. THOSE PEOPLE will maybe stab you. etc. SHOOT YOU, highly doubtful. A gang of armed meth heads/junkies etc. is beyond belief. So their dealer goes "here's a Handgun".? Hello.
