Anyone? Experience to share transporting multiple pets from US to Lakeside via Air?
Hola! I've done some research, but still confused on process...
Living Lakeside full time, but going back to US in Feb to bring my pets (2 cats & Lab) to Ajijic via United Air.
Hoping to chat with anyone willing to offer their experience with this and best way to do it.
Thanks for any help!
Michael

First of all check with the airline you plan to use to see what their requirements are. If you are by yourself you may not be able to transport 3 pets. Some airlines restrict you to 2 maximum. Other than that you will need a vet certificate stating health and vaccination's dated within 10 days of departure. Most vets are aware of the requirements and have the forms to fill out.

Also, not sure one person may bring 3 animals in, I thought it was one per person. Also not sure UAL will take animals anymore at all. Check with consulate. You'd be better off driving which is what most of us did back when we brought our pets down.
If you do fly, be sure you follow all rules and you have good advice as GDL can be strict and you don't want problems upon arrival.

If you have multiple pets, please drive them in. I would not subject any dog to the cargo hold and that is also where one of your cats will be also since you can only put one pet carrier under the seat in front of you.
Have all your paperwork ready for when you cross the border. They never ask but will if you don't have it.
Driving in with pets is so much less stressful, imho, both for them and you.
Happy trails.

Another thing to check. Some airlines used to allow you to purchase a ticket for a pet to fly on the seat beside you. But as has been said it is usually one or two at most pets per human. You could pay someone to drive all of you across the border and have someone from here meet you for the rest of the trip.

I know a very reliable and insured driver who would probably do that. If you need his info, just ask. He has a sedan and a van so animals in carriers would work.
