Re: New Format
For me the navbar works fine... I just had to get used to it. (I have a 10" ACER mini laptop.) small screen
Pete, I had to scroll down the top for full access to the navbar too.
As to the difficulties presented by the "full-figure-finger"... have you considered using a stylus? Might solve the problema. Lizzy

I think that rather than trying to use the keyboard for much of anything, that I will simply use my iPad.
But thanks for the suggestion.

As connected as you are to the world of technology, I would guess that you will be one of the very first with the new iPhone5!

Re: New Format
What do mean Neil? I haven't been to the local iPhone store for a long time.
All kidding asside, I just got back from the iPhone store 2 hours ago (you caught me), and asked when they thought the new "5" would be coming out.
Of course they didn't know but guessed sometime in the fall of this year, maybe as late as Dec.
You couldn't believe how busy the store was. Seriously they must of have been selling 5 to 10 iPads an hour. The iPad 2 starts at $399 and the "New" iPad at $499.
Of course other products like the Apple TV, and cases for the various products were also selling well. Remind me never to go to an Apple store on a Sunday.

I refuse to get lured by all the hype surrounding Apple. I realize that it is a mindset and way of life but not interested in that I got to have the latest and greatest mentality.
I admit to having looked at the Apple TV box but decided on the Google TV box. We continue to be amazed by all of the features. For example, I was doing research for our upcoming MX trip in August and we really enjoyed being able to watch travel videos for San Cristobal, Oaxaca and Puebla from YouTube on our HD TV.

Neil:
I know you are right. Most of my friends make fun of me because of this urge. Well. I only have the iPhone 4 not the 4s. And NO I don't need the 5, but I'm hooked. The next time in the states once the 5 is out, I'll get it.
And this 5 will do even more thinks that I'm not smart enough to take advantage of. Oh well. I will let Apple take advantage of me :)

Papa Chango, I enjoyed meeting you at the party last week.
Another solution is to scroll to the bottom of ANY page and click the links there. There are links to Home Page, Login, Personal Messages Inbox and My Profile. They are on the blue bar.

Re: New Format
another suggestion for those of us whom are spelling and/or typing challenged, and don't want any of you to know it. I posted the following maybe 90 minutes ago "And this 5 will do even more thinks that"
I was hoping to hide this error and go in and change "thinks" to "things".
But I couldn't

I know there is a short window to edit, because sometimes my fingers are faster than my brain and I've been able to fix it (maybe 5-15 minutes?). But if the editing window is TOO long, people can change their original posts based on what the next people say, and it all ends up not making sense.

Some people after just writing something, no matter how many times they proof read it will not process this information any differently.(find the errors) Peoples processing functions just process information differently. It’s like Pete is really bright when it comes to the “techie” stuff but he also has a really high level of tolerance for those that struggle, this is a very admirable trait, No?

Re: New Format
Darn, I need many hours. But I certainly understand what folks could do when debating a subject after making a stupid post. They could go back and change what they posted and make the person answering their post look like the fool.
I guess I will have to follow Neil's suggestion and do a better job of proofreading before posting.
Could we go for 45 minutes?

Re: New Format
The edit post timer was set low for exactly the reason that you just stated Pete. If you want more time, don't hit send when you're done...wait a while and proof it then hit send.
I would rather put up with spelling and grammatical errors than allow someone to maliciously change a controversial post to benefit themselves...it has happened.

Absolutely right, Ferret. That can really botch up the works too, as far as comprehension goes.
Pete... I can relate... happens to me too. But, that said... on another forum I frequent we cannot 'edit/delete' at all...
We are really stuck with our boo boos. Lizzy

The best way to prevent back editing is to quote the post your are referring to because then it can't be edited.

It is really funny when the OP fails to grasp the concept that the quote has their original non edited post and attempts to pull the switch!

C- Bob... just a suggestion? How about the photo header changes every time you click over to another page.
Does that interest you?
The more threads you visit... the more photos you see. Lizzy

And what's even funnier (seen this twice) is them denying it and then finding out they really screwed up and start making excuses like, "Well I get so confused with all these threads, it's all so complicated and hard to follow and and..." Then they disappear for a week or two and finally show up like nothing ever happened. hahahahaCheenaGringo wrote:"The best way to prevent back editing is to quote the post your are referring to because then it can't be edited.
