New Format

Just on "basic principles", I have to say that the new format sure opens up a new learning curve for us older folk! The new Navbar Menu thingy just makes us work harder. I will guess or project that PM's may sit idling away behind the blue bar?

I like it!

It's faster, less clunky, and easier to navigate. Also cleaner.

The NAV BAR turns red when you have a new PM.

If Hocks doesn't like it I know I must be onto something good..............jajaja.

Well, I can’t get full view of a page without moving the bar, just starting to figure this out we’ll see.

There is a "home" button at the bottom of every page and within the Nav Bar now.

Just working on a rotating header picture so we can see a new one every few seconds instead of every few days or weeks. That should keep people awake........

Works fine for me but so did the old one.

Its not nearly that simple as the stock format is for a single jpeg file only.

It takes a few changes to HTML coding........

I appreciate all the time & effort you put into maintaining this site and will such good humor. My fear is you will get burned out, so keep don't slack off of your beer and tequila meds.

As for the new format, I'll get used to it. I'm one of those folks who doesn't do well with change, even if it is an improvement, but if it is important to me, and this forum is, I'll learn.

The only thing that bothers me and its not just this forum it having to go thru a bunch of steps to upload photos. The older style forums like sparks old board were so much easier. Now a days I use my phone more than my computer. If my computer ever dies I am going to get a tablet. I suspect for us net surfers who don't need a real computer tablets will pretty much be all we need.

Cbob, forum really is nice and I really appreciate the new rules. I can get down and dirty with the best but as you get older it really is pointless. It is just the same ole , same ole stuff with the same people about the same thing. Like the movie ground hog day.

Yes, I would love to be able to upload pictures more quickly but in order for us to do that the pictures would need to be stored on the hosts server not the "Serving.com" server as is the case now. To be able to have that amount of storage on the hosts server I would have to pay them more money each month. If I can ever generate ad or sponsorship revenue then maybe one day we can do this. I am currently investigating different possibilities.

You can still get "down and dirty" in the Octagon if you choose. That always was and still is the rules. We are just enforcing what was always there.

That would depend on how much storage is required. If it is easier to upload photos then I'm sure more people would post them and the storage needs would increase.

At the moment 500mb of storage is $6.95 CDN/Month. That would only allow 500 to 1000 pictures in total at any given time depending on the file size of each picture. I'm sure we already have more than that on the forum. If we limited the file size of each picture then people would have to go through the process of shrinking their pictures before they could upload, etc, etc.

Really like the new format. Great changes.

Gracias, I am sure we will be making a few more tweaks. It is good to renovate every so often to keep things fresh.
