An article on MSN said 20 doctors in Mexico City had died.

There are plenty of domestic and international reporters around in Mexico to report things.

Mexico is reporting 3181 confirmed cases this morning.

And as if reality weren't bad enough, how about people touting conspiracies to the effect that all this is really a plot to bring down the world economies and do some kind of "takeover"?   AAARGH.

Did you hear the one about God? Yeah. God is sick and tired of humans polluting the earth and killing the animals so he's putting his master plan in place. The pollution is clearing, the animals are taking over towns in shut down and the humans are dying. God 1, Trump 0.

Mexico is reporting 3441 confirmed cases this morning.

Antibody tests coming soon. This is needed IN CONJUNCTION WITH the test for the virus itself. If you have antibodies, you're way better off than sitting on pins wondering if you have it, had it or are gonna get it.

This makes very interesting reading that many patients may not need the Ventilator. The more we see and experience the more we begin to learn how better to treat this Virus.

I did respiratory therapy for about 5 years so I know a little about this and I can tell you it’s easy for others to second guess the doctors. The decision to intubate is not taken lightly and a lot of factors are involved. One of the important factors not mentioned is the fact that a doctor many times is jumping from critical patient to critical patient so decisions have to be made on the spot. Preexistent conditions are many times not known so if the patient is not well known to the doctor he will err on the side of caution.

Also, there are protocols. Any pt who can't protect their own airway is supposed to get a tube.

Our knowledge of signs and symptoms of this disease is in the discovery phase. The therapy for these patients will evolve as we learn more and more. Every time you hear of something in this regard wait until others in the field come to a consensus before believing anything.
I also just read that children in Italy are showing up with frostbite like lesions on their toes. They think this might tie in with the corona virus.

This virus is a strange one.. at one am this morning, I got news that my brother breathing was improving and they were going to do a fibroscopy and washing? whatever that is . At 2.30, one hour later, I received news he had passed away after 2 weeks in ICU .
The symptoms of this virus come and go .. one day people are fine the next day they are not and so on..You can expect just about anything..

Washing is done by pushing some saline to the end of the scope and sucking it out. This brings back tissue, cells , microbes, etc so they can study what’s down there.

Both China and Italy have documented cases of pts 4 days into recovery after weeks of battling the virus to suddenly succumb.

This is some disease and when they say stay home, isolate, and take all precautions to avoid contagion they know what they're talking about. Avoidance seems to be the only sure thing.
