Bob, there is an article in today and yesterdays informador that says that the company that was suppose to supply the test kits to the Jalisco government (I thinks it was supposed to be around 5000) mysteriously can no longer provide. Hence no kits no new cases (in Jalisco anyway). Shocked

Someone must have paid more more money for them...At least the count did not go up Very Happy In France they do not record the death at home or outside of the hospital ascorona virus related death as they were not tested.. same deal.. Each country has its quirk and way to count so the figures all have to be taken with a grain of salt..
By the way there ws no relaxation of rules in France and the count of new cases went down for a couple of days and then went back up as well.. ..

It will be interesting to see how Canada's socialised medical system holds up against the US private system.

Canada has 1/10 of the population but only 1/20 of the infected numbers so far. Canada's death rate is 1.1% while the US is 1.7%.

Any word on Semana Santa going forward this year?

It´s been around for over 2,000 years, so I doubt it will be cancelled. As Bob said, some activities will be cancelled. School children in Jalisco are already at home so the 2 week holiday is just longer. Whether there will Easter Sunday Mass Services, I haven´t heard.
Lot of people off work during this period anyway.  I doubt the hundreds of thousands that gather in St.Peter´s Square in Rome will be there this year.

Lot of people off work yes, a lot of people out of work yes. I rent 6 apartments. One I am keeping empty for a Mexican friend and her family in the event she loses her job. Out of the 5 remaining 3 are out of work. Blackeye

Do you think the countries that are desperate for testing equipment are bidding up the price?

After 24 hrs Mexico is still showing 717. They are either doing one hell of a good job at keeping this down or they aren't reporting accurate numbers and the hospitals are over run and people are dying all over the place yet no one is saying that on social media.....very strange.

Two doctors, lifelong personal friends, tell me that there isn´t any over run hospitals in Guad., and they are well connected with the medical community there.  Maybe elsewhere in Mexico, they don´t know. I think Mexico is just in a time lag compared to up north for the spread of the virus.

My daughter, who is a faithful attendee, says there will not be Easter Sunday Misas at the Roman Catholic churches in Guad. or Jalisco. Don´t know about the Protestant churches but I would believe most would act in unison.

838 confirmed cases in Mexico this morning. That's +131. Thanks for the reports about the hospitals Slainte. I guess they are just lagging behind.

In today's Informador there is an article about nurses being assaulted in public buses by passengers fearing they may be carrying the virus.

Verbally assaulted or physically assaulted. Either doesn't surprise me. They should be cheering for these heros on the front lines.

Yeah, that's the burning question! How do you/they know?

Had to walk my dog into centro San Antonio a couple of evenings ago to the vet. EVERYONE in the pueblo was out and about. I was the only one with a mask on - including the vet. People were all jammed into the tiendas buying food, chatting face to face, walking around in clusters, and chatting each other up in clusters.

If this virus hits SA the way it has hit everywhere else, we will lose half the population of San Antonio. Or more!

Just a few days ago we heard of the first case in our county here in south Texas. Young man had just arrived from Ireland and Spain. Now there are twenty cases and a few are community transmitted. There’s a rumor from friends in the medical field that there’s two in my neighborhood. This all feels like a suspense movie where evil is creeping closer and closer.
And yet the grocery stores have long lines with customers standing close together with no gloves or masks. The stores limit the number of customers inside but those outside seem impervious to what’s going on.

If you don't have a fever you are likely not infected with covid19.

My average normal temp is 97.3...but I have a 2 of fever seems every other day...
The other days are normal..sometimes intestinal distress but a bit of aloe vera juice takes care of that.....otherwise I feel just fine/normal. Sympathy symptoms from news over exposure??
