Re: Too young to retire!
You know, if this is what they want to do and they are honest and trustworthy there's nothing wrong with it. They need to make some business cards, make sure they have their visas in order and get to a meet n greet, start a facebook page, get to some meet n greets, a karaoke night, build a clientele.
When my kids grew up and became adults, I told them to hit the pavement and go find a job. It works. There's work here. Being a foreigner the fear of the unknown is scary but once you realize it's not any different than living anywhere else in the world, just a language difference, put your mind and effort into it and do it!
This is your life...are you who you wanna be??

I see how we have a lot in common... sorta...I'd probably have a great time hanging out with them.
For some reason you think we are having a conversation.

What kind of skills do you have,do you speak Spanish, does your visa allow you to work here,do you have start up capital?

It would be helpful to get a reply from the OP about what they're good at or interested in doing. You still reading this?

before you continue disrespecting people on here as trolls, why don't you tell everyone what you told me was your"skill set" in the pm you sent me. why you dint mention that in public,i find ineresting.
tell us why NOB is not an option while yer at it.

A/C, what did you do before you moved here? We don't have any understanding of your skills or experiences so it is very hard to make any meaningful suggestions.
I respectfully ask again what are your skill sets? Many here are trying to help you with your request but your refusal to supply information is, well, problematic.

Not only that a/c Gypsies, but far too many of us have seen people come down here and take advantage of those they see as vulnerable (and a lot of them are). As soon as someone appears to be less than candid about who they are and where they came from, people begin to become suspicion. You do not want to do that just as people are getting to know you.

Well.... just realizing Savings won't cover the 20 year time span till Social Security sets in... I'd say Math may not be a strength...

Re: Too young to retire!
Since Oct 2012, they've posted jointly an entire 26 times, read those posts and you'll have all the info you need...they enjoy beer, dogs and rock music.
From the 3 posts on this now 7 page dialogue, the op responded 2 days after asking and once yesterday. They have already said you've all outdone yourselves. They were only asking for a few ideas not a complete investigation. Obviously, they have other things to do and so do you...don't worry about them.
They are gypsies...gypsies move around a lot, they'll figure it out on their own. Time for a nap.

Obviously they are not interested in networking and establishing ties in the community. I wish them the best of luck as they go about doing whatever it is they are doing here. Happy Saturday everyone!

the only thing they qualify for, based on a pm i received from them, is pass a plate as you do. that's why i recommend that you get together and compare notes for a merger.

You can even send them an email or call them, they've posted that info in previous posts. Must be laid back and enjoying life...that's alright, doing what they want.

Why don't you pass the plate around to you and yours and raise $1000 a month to feed the hungry at the soup kitchen near you? Then we'll compare notes.

Re: Too young to retire!
Hola! I read your first post but haven't read all of the 8 pages of reply's. Here is an idea for you. There are many expats here that have many dogs. I know for a fact that walking them is an issue for many. You really could create a viable business as "professional dog walkers". This area is lacking this service. But, and this is a big but............YOU must be a Pack Leader..................you could go to school, there are a few good professional dog trainers here that could teach you the ropes. The very best guy I know is Art - I don't have his phone number but many members here would have it. Maybe one of you could post Art 's contact info for the OP.
I think this could be a very good service you could offer to the community. Align yourself with the dog groomers, the vets, the animal rescue centres here and you will be well on your way to a very full schedule. BUT YOU MUST BE PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED AND A PACK LEADER.
I hope my idea helps you and your partner!
Sincerely,
Guiness
(we have 7 dogs - a potential new client!!)
Best of Luck!

Well now, you just couldn't contain all that privy pm info for more than a day...looks like at least they would sit down and drink beer with you. *giggles, tear*

Re: Too young to retire!
the pm info is contained and this is pure speculation based on their skills of which they told me of and i haven't mentioned.i suspect they won't come forth with that information as almost everyone on this thread has asked. as you are more than aware,i avoid eviljellycoals like the plague they are. they will not sit down with me,thanks.MyHomeSweetHome wrote:Pedro wrote:
