Excellent point, CBob. Late lunch at Tabarka will be the way to go for the rest of us.
Trailrunner, did he mention what his hours will be in the new location?

He's right, and I live near him. Anytime after they close at 2 on weekdays usually works. Forget weekends. Hibernate.
Anyone who gets a notion to buy or rent in Ajijic village had better think "garage" and on the side of the street with no parking.
On the other side, the Entitled park right in the residents' driveways, ignoring the "no parking" signs.
I don't go out to dinner often for all the reasons mentioned, but favor lunch during the week. With a small car, navigating the village is easy. We moved to Ajijic with an extra cab pickup and it was a PITA to get around. The FIT works.
I agree with Lady O that using the malecon parking lot after dark in not a desirable option. It's a popular partying spot.
David's former location was fine, but as a person who lives within two blocks of the new one, I'm selfishly delighted with his change of location. Great food!

Re: Tabarka - new location
Well to be fair, I don't have a garage and don't have any problem with street parking. Yes, sometimes I have to park down the street if I'm out and return during LCS hours but am always able to move it back in front of mi casa anytime after 3:00pm. Having the garage (which I did before converting to another bedroom) was more of a PIA for the reasons you mention.

Luckily, I sold my car before I moved down, so parking is never an issue for me. I take the bus from West Ajijic into the village, or anywhere else I need to go. Easy peasy! I can't wait to try David's new location!

Yep Simply Thai shut down in that old location across from the LCS quite a while ago. That building has been for sale for at least a year now.

Re: Tabarka - new location
Tabarka is open now. We went there last night and had some excellent Mahi Mahi and Calamari. He had a limited selection since it was his first night but I imagine he will be up to the full menu in no time.
