US Notary Issues
For years this issue has been bandied around various forums with plenty of "expert opinions" on the topic. Just read about a new service on the Michoacan message board that may just be the ultimate solution to this problem:
It's simple, go to NotaryCam.com, upload your document, connect to a live
Notary face-to-face on a webcam, and electronically sign your document. The
notary will verify and confirm your identity and apply their eNotary seal.
1. Upload your document.
2. Call/Request a live eNotary (face to face on a webcam)
3. eNotary will confirm your ID.
4. eSign your document.
5. Notary will eNotarize your document.
6. Documents are routed and stored securely. (notarized document is e-mailed
to you and the recipient)
7. Now available in over 60 Countries.

Re: US Notary Issues
Its called E signing and nothing new. One big problem is its not legal in many places. It is illegal in Oregon for example unless something changed in the last year. My info comes from my wife who was a Lawyer, broker, and notary in Oregon a few years ago. Obviously this is the future but the law needs to change in many states for this to be legal. Check your local state laws and with bank or whatever before using this service.
