Our neighbor was home alone yesterday afternoon (his wife was out with the car) when a robber kicked in the door after somehow gaining entrance to the yard. He then pepper sprayed and made my friend walk into the kitchen where a scuffle began over the phone. My friend was then shot in the wrist and the robber fled upstairs. My friend managed to escape the house and get help next door. A local gardener saw the robber flee the house and leave in a small brown chevy compact. He was Mexican.

If you get shot you need to go to the red cross because it is a police matter.

Many hours later all the forensic folks had been at the house collecting evidence but not taking any fingerprints!!! We located his wife, cleaned up the blood and today they will go and report it again in Chapala and visit an orthopedist to repair the cracked wrist bone. He is lucky to be alive and not have a shattered wrist. Update: They got to Chapala and the police didn't show up!!!

The robber did ring the bell before getting into the yard but my friend was too far away from the intercom to get to it so the robber assumed was at home. Remember this was at 3pm, day light and a pretty busy street.!!! The robber fled the scene taking nothing!

This will be reported to Lakeside Crime.

The door was kicked in. That would suggest it was locked.
