So, then, to what do we attribute your momentary lack of "better sense"? The transient need to engage in snotty repartee in order to fill your own windbag full of exhausted hot air?

I suspect my suspension of good sense was due to the unwarranted viciousness of your attack.

Heads up: It's over. Sleep

it is never "over" with her. the lady has no restraint, no boundaries, no dignity, no self respect. she is somewhat lower on the food chain than you.

IMO, this thread should have been consigned to the Octagon.......where old enmities and new insults live, but the mod is the mod. As it is, it is available to anyone visiting this board, member or not.

@ gringal -

I really see nothing so offensive that this thread deserves to be "banished" to the Octagon. On the other hand....

Ask CanuckBob if he'll make you a moderator.

Lehrer:

Maybe it is the teacher in you or maybe you enjoy smacking your head against the wall but last time I heard, you cannot teach intelligence! When someone posts on this or any other forum with the sole purpose of disrupting through ignorant or irrational posts, common sense seems to dictate ignoring them.

@ CheenaGringo -

Assuming you meant my last post, gringal (I hope) realizes that my comment was "tongue-in-cheek"; we've each been on this board a good while now and (I hope) have grown to understand one another.

[I sent her a "Friend Request" a while back -- she hasn't accepted, but I don't feel slighted.]

Beer

[On the other hand, if you are referring to my comments in general, you are correct: It's the "teacher" in me! I tried never to give up hope -- concerning anyone.]

I hope that wasn't a serious suggestion! Shocked I have no desire to be a moderator. That thread started out all right; in fact, most people were having an enjoyable back and forth, but it finally degenerated into very personal attacks....the sort of thing that gets a thread moved. Just my opinion.
However, as I said before: as far as I am concerned, it's over...... and the mod is the mod.

I don't think I ever received it...........but no matter.......I just added you.. And I agree with CG that it must be the "teacher" in you having hope beyond hope. I once taught beginning violin lessons to kids and I will tell you that it strained the boundaries of hope in many cases.

Well, here I try to bring a number of you burdened by inadequate communicative skills into the discourse through kindly reprimand for your weaknesses and, what do you do but attack the messenger. OK, that´s it; I´m applying for that job as Dr. Simi in front of the Farmacias Similares in San Cristóbal and can supplement my income as the dancing clown with $20 Pesos, three minute medical consultations for beanbrains who venture in off the street. I can change from the Dr. Simi costume to the medical doctor consultant costume with the stethoscope in under 30 seconds.

True but in Dawg's case, verbosity is an art form.

Also a very effective sleep aid.

Dunno about that...I've seen "art" on canvas where I'm sure the paint was thrown on it and ground in with boot heels.

Me,too. In order for it to be "art", the boot heels have to have been perfectly placed and the throwing arm practiced.

Defining art is like defining Porno. We all know when we see it but I be damned
if I can define it in words. I think some Supreme Court justice came up with
the prono comment.

My favorite "art is" story was a big festival in Los Gatos, CA, where the grand prize went to a piece of "sculpture" which consisted of a fiberglas covered, real picked chicken in a child's coffin, placed upright.

It was in the summer, good and hot. The chicken entity started leaking, the smell was horrendous and a pregnant woman fainted away when she saw (and sniffed) it.
The "artist" got to keep the medal anyway.

My favorite art story happened when I was about 16. We were at a very classy art museum looking at what I thought to be a pile of junk when a man walking by commented to his wife “I wondered where they sent those cars after a Saturday night binge.”

Neither you nor I would need to adjust the waistline of the Dr. Simi costume in the least to fit iinto it quite comfortably, Fat Marty, since the Dr. Simi character is portrayed as a fatso. After a couple of months dancing about in the Dr. Simi sweat suit costume at peasant wages, you´d need to take in the sweatsuit and would no longer need that crane they keep for gordos the next time you rent a camel ride in Sharm el Sheikh at least until you have gorfed down a couple of weeks worth of ful medamas while in Egypt.
