bus to Guadalajara
Does anyone know the best place in Ajijic to catch the bus to Guadalajara? How often does it run?

Re: bus to Guadalajara
I don't believe there is bus from Ajijic to Guadalajara. You need to take a bus from Ajijic to the bus station in Chapala. From there you can take a bus to Guadalajara. Be sure to take a Guadalajara "directo" as it has fewer stops along the way.

We caught a bus to Guad from Ajijic like maybe across from Telmex. Don't know the schedule
Re: bus to Guadalajara
The directo bus from Joco stops in Ajijic and then goes to Guadalajara via the Libramiento. It runs twice per hour. No need to go to Chapala.

Re: bus to Guadalajara
I agree with David. It stops right by Colon in Ajijic. Big bus will say Directo Guadalajara.
Sometimes the bus say Directo Guadalajara via the Libramiento but not always.

I agree with this. You can also catch the directo bus across from el barco. Just look for a big bus that has a sign that says directo on the front.
Re: bus to Guadalajara
Perfecto!!!! I've been wasting my time going to the Chapala Bus station all these years.
Does this bus run all day long or only during peak periods?
Coming back it seems all the buses from Guadalajara pull into the Chapala Bus station. Is there one that bypasses this and goes back through Ajijic?

Re: bus to Guadalajara
You can wave down the bus at about every block. On the carretera you can see where there is place for the bus to stop no need to go anywhere except close to an intersection. Make sure you board the Guadalajara directo libramiento- Just ask before you board. It runs roughly every hour.
For time schedule go to the bus stop in Ajijic near the carretera and colon, they have the schedule posted there and you can figure out how far you stop is. Since they are not running exactly on time give yourself a little extra time or take it at the bus stop in Ajijic. It also stops in front of the Torrito.
Coming back , the schedule is listed in Guadalajara , same deal there is one every hour for Jocotepec that stops in Ajijic and one every hour for Chapala.
one is roughly on the hour and the othr every half hour.
Thake the Jocotepec one if you do not want to have to change in Chapala.
The bus runs all day long.

Yes if you take a bus going to Chapala it pulls in the Chapala station but if you take the Jocotepec bus it takes the libramiento.

The Directos return to Chapala from Guadalajara every half hour, with an extra one every hour that goes to Jocotepec.
