That was a VERY long wave but we are now back to where we were on May 1st, 2022.
For comparison:
May 1st, 2022: nacional 4,838, jalisco 139, chapala 1 and jocotepec, ixtlahuacan, tuxcueca and tizapan all at 0.

October 21st, 2022: nacional 3,639, jalisco 146, chapala, jocotepec, ixtlahuacan, tuxcueca and tizapan all at 0.

I will continue to check daily at https://datos.covid-19.conacyt.mx/ and if I notice an upward trend, I will start to post the stats again.
I was unable to get a bivalent booster shot in Ontario because they wanted all my vaccinations in their system at the department of Health and I waited too long to be able to do it. That's a warning for anyone making a trip there who received their shots elsewhere.
On the other hand, my daughter-in-law tested positive for Covid last Sunday while I was there. I'm still fine with the three shots that I have had. So far, so good.

Heads up! The stat site has been sporadically posting stats and I do keep track. The last posting before today's was on November 22nd. Today, December 5th, the stats for all of Mexico have more than doubled. Same time frame has Jalisco just about doubled.  Locally, they are still at zero but there are no easy walk in testing sites either and there are home test kits which are not reported.

Thanks for that, ferret. While other places in the world are tossing around bringing back mask mandates, Mexico acts like Covid doesn't exist. When I go out these days, almost no one but me is wearing a mask.

The following news on the way viruses spread gives you more reason to wear a mask. I’m fully vaccinated but I still wear a mask when I’m in crowded areas to prevent the virus spreading to others.

At this point, I am convinced that wearing a mask is more important than being vaccinated as far as getting infected. 2 summers ago when I flew to Canada I had had no vaxes at that point. Took 3 flights, wore a mask the whole time in airports and planes. This summer I had had 2 vaxes but no boosters, took 6 flights. Never got Covid.

Almost everyone I know in Canada has had Covid by now, even though they are fully vaxed and boosted. But they stopped being diligent about masking in public places.

Was interesting to see the compliance with masking in Canada according to area. Even though it was no longer mandated, there were announcements on the loudspeakers in all airports asking people to please wear masks. In Toronto many wore masks, in Vancouver even more, in Calgary almost no one.

Recently read that Mexico City had a very high percentage of people wearing masks, even though they have NEVER been mandated there!

Interesting factoid?

Mexico City has a large percentage of educated people who actually understand and believe in science instead of what they read on Facebook or because they think the govt. is lying to them about Covid.
When masking was mandated in many places, I could tell how ignorant people were when they thought wearing a mask under their nose counted as complying. Or when they pulled some filthy, flimsy mask out of their pocket, and stuffed it back in their pocket when they walked out of the store.

In small towns, where a lot of the local population didn't even manage to make it to, or through high school, you see much more Covid idiocy.

I'm aware of 4 positive Covid cases @ Riberas this past week; apparently ~Thanksgiving exposures. Friends of friends with whom I did have brief contact, so back to big time Betadine, chlorox & activities discernment. 3rd winter of this..geez

Had a 'twilight-zone' moment - when one of the 4 Riberas cases 'self-reported' to me, in a restaurant, 'recovering' (day 4, still sniffily), eating lunch out with a friend (-). No masks in sight.  Poorly ventilated indoor venue. Clearly different realities. This is how it happens.

Pack your disinfectants- no longer @ stores.  Bedtime saltwater gargle & nose rinse.  Light betadine face wash, so viruses don't enter via tear ducts.  I know people NOB positive after 2 years of serious isolation, caught off-guard - gyms, bars & restaurants. Excess death statistics quite high (surprising the insurance industry, stark NHS stats in UK) we are that demographic..

Now that the virus has had an impact worldwide are there still Covid deniers out there? Does anyone personally know of persons who have repented?i see less and less deniers posting on TOB.
