Fires are always a risk in B.C. I lived in Golden and worked in one of the truck stops there many years ago; there was a big fire a few miles away, and I remember one of the waitresses coming into work in the morning and saying there were sparks flying past her trailer park and she didn't know if her home would be there when she went back that night. We had a flood one year with the spring melt. We had to pack up and move to higher ground. The mountains are beautiful, but Mother Nature gets right cranky sometimes.
My dad lived in Summerland for a few years before he died. I loved visiting him there! Penticton is lovely too, but Summerland is my favourite Okanagan location.
You two are sure going to be missed around Lakeside.

Victoria doesn't have winter, Ida Claire. Regina has winter; Winnipeg has winter; Victoria, nah.

Victoria's winter
Traveller wrote:Victoria doesn't have winter, Ida Claire. Regina has winter; Winnipeg has winter; Victoria, nah.
The odd time that Victoria does get snow, it gets buried in it. Has to do with the Arctic outflow from the BC interior that brings sub zero temps to Vancouver Island married to a Pineapple Express from Hawaii arriving with drenching precipitation. Can easily dump over 3 feet of the white stuff overnight. Wreaks havoc.

Havoc in Vancouver too. Especially those not use to snow. The Hong Kong Chinese moms, driving their minivans to pickup kids from school, driving like every snowflake coming down was a solid rock to be avoided.
I remember taking a Hong Kong winter clothing manufacturer to Winnipeg. He was quite cocky, after all, this was his line of business. Walked through the airport, no problem, then the glass doors opened, 20 below F. The look of shock on his face was priceless!

CB will have to start the Skaha Lake Society, based upon the successful Chapala model.
I will always remember when I was a young man, everytime I passed through Vernon I always saw the most beautiful young women. Now I see the legendary beauties of Guadalajara - not that can I do much about it.But one must appreciate beauty wherever one can find it.

Just tell her that just because you are on a diet doesn't mean you can't look at the menu.

I like that saying jgrill! It's similar to one my hubby used to use... "It doesn't matter where you get your appetite as long as you eat at home".

Well if the house doesn't sell in 6 months we'll be settling back in for a year or two.

If it is priced right, it will sell. Lison to what your realtor tells you and not what you think it is worth...but again depends if you want to hang around or move it..good luck there are plenty of buyers out there

We listed it for $30k less than what they advised. I thought it was too high.

Considering the thickness of the current RE booklet, there are a lot of hungry realtors with many listings unsold. I think you are smart to set an attractive price on your place. Best of luck!
