After falling and levelling out for awhile the lake level has started to rise sharply in the last few days.

I know that the Ajijic Weather station said that we had 1.15 inches of rain since midnight. It will be interesting to see how high the water gets this year.

I don't know about lake levels but we were delighted to find a (seasonal) babbling brook just past our fenceline. With all the new tropical greens, and the sound of the brook, our rear deck has become a zenful place. Can't wait to start painting fresco again out there.

I see the Lake level chart hasn't been updated since last Friday.

Are the Technicians afraid of getting wet?

Its not rising that fast. Do you see huge amounts of lirio out in the middle yet?

Not huge amounts but the floating islands seem to be getting more obvious and there seems to be more lirio accumulating in the Riberas shore area. I can't tell if it is just blowing in the wind or actually growing in amount.

I think a lot of the lirio is blowing in from the south and west shores where it accumulates from last season. They don't clean it up in those areas. I'm thinking they haven't fully opened the dams yet.

Talking about those water lillies, I guess they have finally started releasing water into the lake because as of today, from the Chapala malecón, the lake appears to be now almost covered in water lillies. It didn't look like that yesterday. So get ready to witness the lake to slowly but dramatically begin to rise.

The lake has now come up 20 centimeters. It is higher now than the high point in 2017 and still maybe a month or so to go

If it keeps on going up like in previous years, the lake is going to be much higher than last year, which might create flooding for those of you living near the shoreline. I sure hope I am wrong. :)

According to Conagua it has come up 22 centimeteres in the last few days. On their graph it looks like a sharp rise.

Yep looks like they are letting er rip now. Usually get about a meter with the first dam opening. I noticed today that the parking by Maria Isabella is almost gone again with all the lirio washing in. There is actually about 3 months to go. It doesn't usually peak until November or so.
