traffic jam on Carratara Empty traffic jam on Carratara

I was leaving Chapala Haciendas at 9am this morning and when I got to the top of the hill, traffic was backed up going into Chapala as far as I could see in both directions. Anybody know what happened?

I don't know the cause of the backup, but many drivers are turning into the Haciendas to use Codornices/Zaragoza to get into Chapala.

People at the Bombaros Breakfast said a gas truck started leaking? caught fire? tipped over? depending on who you talked to.

The gas truck caught on fire on the highway. Didn't blow up thank goodness. all clear now.

Umm, where exactly did this 'gas truck' catch on fire? On the Libramiento? The Carretera? Or the highway north of Soriana? I can't figure out where you guys are talking about.

Was it a LP gas truck or a Pemex gasoline tanker?

It was a gas truck that refills roof tanks. It was sitting just in front of the new hotel being built, on the Guad-Chapala highway by CH entrada #1. Didn't see a fire but the bomberos were spraying water all over the back of the gas truck where the gauges and refill hose is located.
