Define "local" moving companies. i.e. where are you looking to move from/to..

Moving companies located Ajijic-Chapala for moving from another state to Ajijic.

We had a good experience with Strom-White moving from Canada.
I can not speak to their skills with inter-state moving. sorry.

We have used Strom and found them to be the BEST. Give them a call, I think you will be happy.

I used Strom White to move here from the states. I shipped 45 works of art, many framed with glass. I also shipped 5 sets of china and a ton of crystal glasses. Only one piece of glass was broken and easily replaced for $10. My shipment came within the time frame promised and amazingly....it came in with less cost than originally quoted. I hightly recommend them.

I have heard good things about both Strom White and Lake Chapala Moving ( http://www.lakechapalamoving.com/ ) but have no personal experience with them, our move years ago was done with a U.S. firm and it cost a bundle, plus fairly bad service, so I couldn't recommend them.

I have been getting quotes for some things that I want to move down from Texas, Strom White's quote was higher than Winston's at Lake Chapala Moving but the real surprise was, that a U.S. firm which ships internationally thru Mayflower came in at 2/3 of the lower quote that I got from the two Lakeside agencies. I used Winston in our move here and I have only positive things to say about him and the service provided.

Be careful of low bids. They are based on and estimate of weight but you will be billed for the actual weight.

Lake Chapala Moving apparently does a good job as long as there are no problems. A friend lost several big-ticket items in her move from the States, including silverware, and calls were never returned. No one was ever in the office to discuss the missing items even though they appeared on the shipping list.

We used Lake Chapala Moving from the States to Mexico and then several times locally. They always did an excellent job and Winston has always been very helpful.
