Not sure what you think you're trying to say here but I can tell you that the AFI (Federal Investigation Agency) was dissolved almost two years ago for being hopelessly corrupted by organized crime. Didn't you get the news? Still waiting for that face-to-face meeting between EPN and Mireles?

You are too fucking stupid to understand but for the benefit of other readers, I'll explain. AFI was created for the same reason it was replaced a  new law enforcement agency. Its predecessor had become hopelessly corrupted by organized crime and it was AFI to the rescue. Hence my mention of el cuento de nunca acabar which flew right over your head.

You pathetic attempts to discredit me with continually mentioning the meeting are falling on deaf ears.

I really don't need to attempt to discredit you...since you are doing a fine job of just that all by yourself.

Oh really? Then why do you constantly bring up the meeting? You continually show what a complete ignoramous you are. There was a time on this board that you appeared to be a poster of substance. Your idiocy on this thread has completely removed that illusion.

What happened to rule number two:
2) No swearing outside the Octagon.

It has been slipping for a while but now even the F-word is acceptable outside the Octagon?

This Mireles character now says he's going to join the Fuerza Rural. Considering all the anti-government rhetoric, all the criticism of the Fuerza Rural and the Pitufo smear campaign, I'll be curious to see how they spin this news over at Borderland Beat. From El Universal...

Mireles e Hipólito se sumarán a Fuerza Rural

As I was trying to say earlier in this thread, a rational argument can be made that a succession of governments have repeatedly failed in their attempts to restore civil order and the rule of law in Mexico. Here are two articles from Insight Crime which illustrate the type of obstacles that have stood in the way of achieving those goals.

How Mexico Public Perceptions Feed Security Problems

Mexico Police Tests Show Deep Corruption Amid Tamaulipas Violence

Templarios - Page 18 Empty Re: Templarios

Post by Smartalex Wed May 21, 2014 2:24 pm

Regardless of the failures of the past, sometime in July, the EPN government will roll out yet another national police force to combat organized crime. This new police agency is modeled after the French example of the Gendarmerie and will be called the Gendarmes. It is intended to be a highly vetted and well-trained elite police force. They will operate in a similar fashion to how the Autodefensas have operated, i.e., they will occupy whole towns and replace the existing law enforcement agencies in those towns, which in many instances have proven to be hopelessly corrupted by organized crime. However, unlike the Autodefensas, they will have the training and expertise to actually perform those functions. With assistance from the federal government, those towns will then have the opportunity to reform more trustworthy public security agencies...and the Gendarmes can move on to the next place.

This is the centerpiece of EPN's strategy for demilitarizing the struggle against organized crime and restoring civil society and the rule of law in the otherwise lawless areas of Mexico. It is a ground-up approach to restoring law and order and a direct rebuttal to the Calderon regime's top-down philosophy of crime control, in which the government hunted down the heads of the cartels and paid little or no attention to the plight of local governments and police agencies. The Gendarmes were supposed to be deployed beginning in January of this year. However, this is Mexico and there were delays. The biggest obstacle, so far, was in finding enough people who could actually pass the vetting process which determines their suitability for public service. Instead of an initial force of 10,000, there will only be 7,000 boots on the ground come July. Eventually, the force is projected to number about 40,000.

Of course, the cynics, naysayers and denialists have already declared this agency to be a failure. To them, I say, "Not so fast...they haven't even been deployed yet."

Maybe the naysayers and cynics have a deeper understanding of the history of the relationship between law enforcement and the drug cartels in this country. DFS,PFJ, AFI, PFM etcetera. Round and round they go, they soon get bought off. Everybody knows.

While Hipolito Mora has been accepted as a member of the Fuerza Rural, this Mireles character has been rejected. Some reports say his rejection was due to the fact that he had already been expelled from the Autodefensas Council, while another report says his problem was due to that old narcotrafficking bust that continues to haunt him. Oh...and he's still uptight because EPN refuses to meet with him. From El Universal...

Mireles, ya sin intención de registrarse en la Policía Rural

This thread is more about smartguy bashing Mireles than it is about the ongoing situation of the fight against the Templarios.
BTW, it has been several weeks since the incident on the coast, ample time for gathering evidence, and no one has been charged in the killings at the roadblock.
