Re: An American citizen living in the Guadalajara airport
I spoke with her last Monday evening. She made sense, but I knew something was off. I believe she is probably developmentally disabled and she certainly was not clean and well groomed. I also has someone who is bilingual call her family here in Mexico. She told me she was just fine living at GDL. I am glad she is back with family

Not even 24 hours...if you had half your mental faculties. How many days would it take to convince you that this was above the pay grade of "do-gooders".sir wrote:Would a sane person spend 24 days in an airport wearing pajamas?hwilliams wrote:From watching the video, it appears she has absolutely no mental impairment. You didn't answer the question I asked. And yes I understood what she said in the interview.hwilliams wrote:Are you capable of understanding her in the video? I couldn't understand what she was saying very well. She said her aunt came to the airport , left, came hack and left again and that she was unfortable sitting in those chairs all day. What was so significant in that video?hwilliams wrote:Are you capable of understanding her in the video? The airport official who gave the interview said she might have a mental disorder , most people would not have an argument for that . Lots of mentally impaired persons can speak well but can't manage their lives ...and a lot of ignorant people misunderstand them and how much care they need.

I am proud of our do-gooders. They done good.
As for hwilliams, he watched a few minutes of a video and diagnosed Ms. Castro as having "absolutely no mental impairment." I read a couple of his/her posts and have determined s/he has no empathy or compassion.

Re: An American citizen living in the Guadalajara airport
It is possible that a sane person could spend that amount of time in an airport. Absolutely. That answers your question. Do you have any evidence of her mental illness or are you simply assuming it exists? Theodore Kaczynski was deemed fit to stand trial and everyone here is probably aware of his very odd behavior. Do sane people fly airplanes into buildings and kill thousands? Yes, they do. So how does 24 days in an airport automatically define someone as mentally ill? Apparently you are not the only arm chair psychiatrist that can diagnose a person on very, very little info. I am truly impressed. Do you people provide therapy in your spare time?sir wrote:You didn't answer the question I asked. And yes I understood what she said in the interview.hwilliams wrote:Are you capable of understanding her in the video? In her interview with TV Azteca she mentions changing her clothes in the restroom. Did anyone on this board see what she wore for 24 days?simpsca wrote:Could be she was back on meds when the interview took place. I agree with sir, who would spend that amount of time in an airport? She is fluent in Spanish, she could have asked someone to call her relatives in Guadalajara to come and take her back to Guadalajara if she had all her faculties. And why the pajamas for 24 days?

Re: An American citizen living in the Guadalajara airport
Amazing. I believe one person, the only one on this board, talked to this woman and said, quote "she made sense". And then there are others like yourself that apparently have magical powers that allow them to diagnose a person as impaired from solely the written word. I'd rather have no empathy than misplaced or unwanted empathy. And I'd be willing to wager you cannot understand her on the video which means you haven't a clue to anything.Lady Otter Latté wrote:I am proud of our do-gooders. They done good.

I joined this board to help get a feel and learn something about the Lake Chapala area. And that I did. Like whom to avoid when I visit the area. Gracias y adios.

Re: An American citizen living in the Guadalajara airport
Does anyone else find it odd that a person who dismisses others´ concerns by asking, "Do you have any evidence of her mental illness or are you simply assuming it exists?" is the same person who with no evidence determines that the person has "absolutely no mental impairment"?
I wonder why someone would insult people who simply showed concern for someone who might be in trouble and seems anxious to escalate the conversation into an argument.
I always wonder about a supposed newbie who jumps out the gate with negative posts. I am sure there really is nothing "new" about hwilliams.

Way too obvious, hwilliams. When a "newbie" starts out with a adversarial, mean-spirited troll designed to antagonize then says "goodbye" but does not really go away, they are not a newbie but an oldie with an ax to grind. You have missed us, haven´t you, sweetie?

The point I was trying to make, poorly, was that the people trying to help were more than "ordinary do-gooders"...whatever the hell they are.

Do you have that feeling that someone is lurking in the dark shadows of the corners?
Nice too see our citizen militia is not asleep at the city gates.
