Avoiding flat tires Empty Avoiding flat tires

Post by CanuckBob Sat Aug 24, 2013 7:52 am

With all the hazards on the roads around here (broken glass, nails, etc.) I was pleased to learn that someone was distributing UltraSeal tire sealer around here. This stuff is a liquid that gets put inside each tire and instantly and permanently seals any puncture up to 1/4 inch in diameter. It doesn't not affect tire balancing. They come right to your house and install it in under 30 minutes. This amazing stuff is even used in aircraft and space shuttle tires. Any how, I convinced them to put up a banner ad here to let everyone know because, IMO, if you are driving around Mexico it's a no-brainer.

If you are interested you can either click on the ad or visit them directly at: http://www.spectrasports.com/

Used to use it for motocross as fixing a moto flat in the middle of nowhere is tough

Check out the website. It costs about $13 US per tire (installed). I already put it in my Vocho and will be putting it our van next. It's a great peace of mind since we drive all over the place.

Is it a one shot deal or does it have to be repeated? How long does it last?

It is a one shot deal that lasts the life of the tire.

Yes, even though it is non-toxic and biodegradable it's not nice if someone gets a mouthful when mounting new tires......jaja.

Yep believe me this crud does come flying out when you break the bead unless you put a towel around it
to catch it. The tire wonks would really appreciate a heads up when you use this stuff or they might not
be too happy with you. Nothing new about the concept of this stuff as it has been around for years and
yes tire people hate the stuff as it is real messy and yes it does not taste good as CB points out.

Does it completely fill the tire tube? Never heard of it but sounds interesting.

Yep, I have seen videos where a guy unloads a whole 9mm clip into the tread and the tire doesn't lose a pound of air. Every hole is instantly sealed.

Pedro, I don't think it will seal inner tubes but you could call them and ask.
