Dental experience
Everyone knows about the great Mexican dental work at very reasonable prices. Today I found out for myself. I strolled into Dental Express in west Ajijic and asked if I could make an appointment to get my teeth cleaned. They said they could do it right then and there. I went into the back and was blown away with the cleanliness and modern equipment that had. They are using the latest in ultrasonic equipment for cleaning the teeth. None of that scrapping and gouging like my dentist back in Canada used. 30 minutes later my teeth were cleaned and polished. They also performed a check-up to look for cavities, etc. TOTAL COST $150 pesos (about 11 bucks). Now that is unbelievable. Dentistry is definitely one of the best bargains down here.
I am going back to get a chipped tooth fixed for $390 pesos (about $33 bucks).
Gotta love it.

Re: Dental experience
I was blown away by the service I received from Dra Ana at Haros office
Before coming down here I had to have a tooth extracted.
When I got here I had x-rays, photos taken, teeth cleaned and a plan for fixing my messy mouth, for less than the cost of an x-ray of 1 tooth NOB. Forget about the cost of extraction.
It has taken a while (60 + years), but I actually don't mind going to the dentist.
As for the cost savings... don't get me started.

I just had mine cleaned and inspected up here in semi-rural Ontario. It cost $120, NOT pesos..

Semi-rural eastern Ontario is where I am from. Tyendinaga Township.
Anywhere close to you?

Tyendinaga is near Belleville. If you get down here, look us up.

I'm an Albertan, so not too familiar with this part of the world. If we are down that way, I'll give you a heads up--but we won't be in this neck of the woods for too much longer. We spent one winter Lakeside and I tried to convince the wife to make it semi-permanent, if not full-time, but no luck. So, we have compromised on Vancouver Island. With any luck, we won't have to endure one more Ontario winter!

GEEZER ALERT. Since Dental is so cheap (relatively) Lakeside, get it done. If you still possess real teethe, maintain them. At these prices, a cleaning every three months is de riguer. In the end, at 95, they couldn't maintain my mother's dental health. She still had most of her teethe, but bad teethe, no cleaning = no desire to eat = bye, bye.

Our attempt to move west has fallen through so we'll be around here for a while, I guess.zenwoodle wrote:Tyendinaga is near Belleville. If you get down here, look us up.
And a friend of ours has just moved to Belleville, so we will be down that way at some point. I assume you aren't there in the winter, so will try to look you up if we are down there in the summer!
