Re: Fishing Puerto Vallarta area
We have a fishing trip lined up for 6 of us in Manzanillo on Oct. 21/22/23. So far we found a nice hotel right on the beach in Santiago Bay for $42 per night. We are going to book our boat(s) once we get there and check things out. We will report back on everything.

Re: Fishing Puerto Vallarta area
I believe the sharks are now protected, strictly catch and release. Roosterfish are catch and release but not because they are protected, but they are so beautiful but they are (apparently) not very good eating.
During WWII there was a major industry on Banderas Bay in shark liver oil, which was sold by the barrel to the U.S. Military. The sharks have been wiped out and they are trying to bring them back. This will last until a bull shark starts hunting:roll: The last shark attack in the Bay took a young boy off the malecon in the late 1950's
A type of Red Snapper is also banned - but I don't know which one.
