Bus to Puerto Vallarta Empty Bus to Puerto Vallarta

Post by Bill Phillips Sun Feb 09, 2014 9:09 am

Friends are taking a bus from Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta and I need exact directions to the bus station - and even an address to put in my GPS, so I can drop them off.

Any recommendation as to which bus line to use would also be appreciated.

Should they buy their tickets from a local travel agency or is it an easy process for non Spanish speakers to buy the tickets at the station?

They should buy their tickets at OXXO. THey can check at OXXO the schedules of the bues that go there. ETN is one of the lines. You can leave from the Zapopan bus station.

Where is the Zapopan bus station?  Is that a different place from the Central de Autobuses [also called Camionera Central] in Tonala?

we got our etn tickets to mazatlan from mary at the travel agent's in chapala. the seat #'s were prebooked for us[handy as we didn't want to sit in the back.] and it didn't cost much more to use her. we left from central de autobuses. when we got there the bus was actually an affiliate of etn called turistar[?] which we didn't know before we got there.

I do not know the address but the buses going to Vallarta stop there so it is less time on the bus. Yes it is different from the Tonalá station.

You can take the bus from either the terminal in Tonala, or the one in Zapopan. It will be shorter from Zapopan as the bus does not have to cross all of Guad.
