Exits on the new Guadalajara - Puerto Vallarta Macrolibramiento?

Heading west, is there an exit off the new Guadalajara - Puterto Vallarta Macrolibramiento at Tala onto Route 70?

The road is so new that Google maps does not show it.  Even their satellite images are not that up-to-date.

I think not. BTW, it is the Macrolibramiento. It is not a route to PV. It connect to the Hwy to Manzanillo and Guadalajara.

Yes it is a route to both PV and Manzanillo. It ends just east of Tequila on the 15D.

There is one off ramp at Mateos Lopez which turns into the 54D heading south to Manzanillo.

I thought it was going to Tepic. Does it connect to that Hwy to PV that is 6 years behind schedule?

No, the new macrolibremiento from Ixthulacan comes out this side of Tequila on the 15D. The Jala (not Tepic) to Compostela section from the 15D to the 200 is now open and the last section which will bypass the 200 entirely from Compestela to Bucerius will be open in 2019 (?).

Actually it is closer to Arenal and that's what they call the exit.

Just came back from PV Sunday.  The new cuota is finished from Jala to Compostela via the connecting hiway (also cuota) from the new cuota, where it ends, to Compostela where it meets the old two lane toll road for a very short distance to the T intersection with 200 at Compostela.
They are working on the next section from the present ending to Las Varas.
Eventually this connecting cuota mentioned above will be extended all the way to Tepic, avoiding 200 all the way from PV to Tepic.
Now and when all the project is completed, the best and shortest route from GDL to Tepic will still be 15D.

Right but if you are going from here to PV you won't be going through Tepic. You will enter the new system at Jala. Correct?

And, the "last section" to get to Vallarta between Compostela and Las Varas, mentioned by slainte, is the real bitch. At least it is on the old road. Look forward to driving the new bits anyway. And nice to know the new road will continue from Compostela to Tepic, which is news to me.

Correct......and no where near Compostela either. You will be about 20K south of Compostela when you hit the exit for the new cuota to Tepic from the new cuota to PV.
I think the new section to Las Varas will be ready in early 2018. It will connect to 200 just a short distance south of Las Varas.
Las Varas to the Punta Mita exit on 200?.....quien sabe.

It will be a straight shot from the new road to Tepic, but right now it is only 2 lanes ending at Compostela, but cuota.  Don't know if they plan 4 lanes in the future or not but it is a very good road.
The new system is.....Image a triangle from Jala to 20K south of Compostela to Tepic and back to Jala....all cuotas. The connecting road will pass just to the east of Compostela.

I've been using 70 via Mascota for a number of years....might be forced to change with all this progress.

Yesterday I drove along the new section from Ixtlahuancan to Mateos Lopez (65 pesos). The road continues, but where is the next exit? Tala or Tequila?

Arenal, which is about 25 - 30 minutes this side of Tequila.

After much digging around I finally found this, which suggests there should be a exit at Tala...

They opened the ML to Arenal before finishing the exit ramp at Tala. Don't know if it is operational yet but will next weekend as planning on going that way to 15D.
Will report back about Tala if no one does so before.  You can definitely take it (ML) to Arenal and back track on 15D/70 to Tala, all 4 lane, right now, and not that much further.

Nope, postponed our trip for a week, but will let you know.

I'm heading to Tepic tomorrow for a little fishing at Agua Milpa so I'll let you know when I get back on Thursday.

The Tala exit is not open yet. The highway comes out on the 15D 10 minutes east of the Tequila exit (we timed it).

Thanks for the update CBob. That's unfortunate. We have some guests arriving next week hoping to visit the Guachimontones Pyramids in Teuchitclan and that Tala would have been real close...

Try this Cincy.....not that much further, maybe 15, 20 minutes.

Or go through Joco to Acatlan, catch 80 and take to just before Cocula and cut across to NE of Ameca, that road (the one between 70 and 80) will cross 70 and take you straight up to Teuchitlan where Guachimontones is. All good roads.

You would have to go to the Tequila off ramp and down a ways to pull a u turn and go back on the 15D.
