Take the macro libremeiento to the 15D, then to the 68D, then to the 200. Check Google maps.

Bob is correct, as I suppose it is easier, but I always take the Mascota route as it is much cheaper (no tolls, less gasoline), takes the same amount of time and is a prettier drive, if you don´t mind the few towns you have to go through.

Agree, I like the Mascota route the best too. Stop in Mascota, Talpa, or San Sebastian de Oeste and explore when you have the time. Beautiful drive.

Depends on your definition of 'easy' I guess.  Easy to me would be the cuota route but one still has to drive the insane route 200 from Compostela down to PV, about 85 miles.
I like to drive the scenic routes but after a couple of times driving via Mascota I said 'enough is enough'.

I only do it a couple of times a year, so it doesn´t get that tedious for me, and I kind of know all the in and outs, but every once in a while we do the cuota-200 thing.

Then what route do you take, RickS?

I can´t imagine anything else other than the two already mentioned, that would be practical.  Numbers 3 and 4 for me would be camion and flying.
I have went to Manzanillo and then up the coast to PV, but only with friends or family for a couple of days of tourist type travelling. You could do the same by taking the old highway to Barra de Navidad and then up the coast to PV.

Except that up the coast to PV from Barra de Navidad is BOOORRRRRRING! It's inland from the actual coast so no vistas and nothing spectacular. The cuota has better scenery imho.

We usually spend a couple of nights at Carreyes, a beautiful spot on an otherwise not so interesting road trip, so that´s the reason why, about half way from Manzanillo to PV.
It´s a place that you never forget.
