Swarm 14

Well I think it is time for another swarm as it has been a couple of months since our last one. I am proposing Thursday, April 18 at 1:00pm. I am open to suggestions on the location. Thoughts?

Have you used Frida Azul for a swarm yet? Plenty of room, good Mexican food.

Oh, and the way things are going, better have a sergeant at arms at the door collecting weapons and then supervising the fray.

Any chance of a slightly earlier date? We'll be in town to close on our home - we fly out on the 18th :(

We can certainly change the date to the 16th or 17th. What day works best for you?

Gringal: we haven't done Frida's yet and I think that would be good. Do they serve cerveza's though?

I'm pretty sure they do, but you might check. Seems like I've seen some margaritas as well as beer at the tables when we were there. I think it's one of Hound Dog's favorites, so maybe he knows about the beer.


When they have it, they do a very good chamorro and the soups are tasty, along with better than average chips and dips. I don't recommend the milanesa chicken (skinny and a little tough). The dips range from a mild bean dip to hotter than hell.

Prices: lunches complete with fruta drinks and soup $50 pesos to $80p. It's roomy enough for the group.

Frita does indeed sell ice cold beer and, if memory serves me, good margaritas The food is fun and very good if you like Mexican food which I do. The staff is quite friendly and it is a good place to eat in a pleasant atmosphere.

I only live two blocks from there but will be in Chiapas during this swarm or I might join you guys. Put off Frida until mid May and I will join you and, once again see if I can find the guy with the bald pate and ridiculous mustache.

Frida is located on the frontage road off of the carretera in West Ajijic on the lake side just before you arrive at the present location of Tabarka heading west,. Turn left at Tabarka on Rio Zula and immediately left again and drive back east a short distance and it will be on your right on the frontage road.

We will be in Ajijic April 13-20 for the first time. We would be glad to join you all if you get together during that time and we can work it out in our "schedule."

It will be at Frida Azul which is located in West Ajijic on the lake side of the caraterra just west of that dental place.

So now I need a sound off on who is attending so I can make reservations.
