Cabs on Christmas day

Does anyone know if the cabs will be in service on Christmas day??

Does anyone know if there will be taxis available at the airport on Christmas Eve to take to Ajijic?

Call the prospective taxi and ask?

Cannot imagine airport cabs not being available on Christmas Eve. Just make sure you know eactly how to reach your destination or have directions/instructions in Spanish since you may get a driver that isn't familiar with the Lake area.

What time are you coming in at? I have to pick someone up at 8:00pm Dec. 24 and if by some chance you are on the same flight I could give you a lift.

Christmas Eve is the busiest night of the year for taxistas, and the one night they can really rake it in.

That's a really sweet offer, but my brother and I get in at 4:15. We'll grab the first taxi we see.
I was there at the August Swarm, C Bob, but you were out of town. I thought that was a great idea you came up with to patronize the local restaurants when their business was so slow. I hate to mention this restaurant on the forum, but it was at Don Pedro Steak House and I thought it was really good!

Well getting a taxi will be no problemo. Hope to see you in January sometime.

BTW......It was RoofBob that came up with the idea for the swarms.

One doesn't "grab a taxi" at GDL. Go to the Taxi Cashier after you exit Customs and buy a ticket to your destination, Ajijic or wherever. Then go outside and get in the taxi queue. The taxi director at the curb will put you in your taxi. It's all quite civilized.

Okay, thanks David for letting me know. I had the hotel pick me up both times before when I was down and when we were in Guadalajara, we just waved and one would stop for us. I thought we could just walk out and wave!

You're welcome! The GDL Airport Taxis have the exclusive right to transport passengers from the airport to their destination. No others allowed.
