But if you want a real Mexican experience, go for it. And if you forget your swimsuit, no problemo...when we were there everyone was aswimin in their underwear.

Cuyutlán, ladies.

Yeah dude we know, just being lazy today, and haven't got on those high test cheaters. The 3.75 ones.

Here ya go, Cuyatlán. Happy now?

Yeah, right. Blame it on your goggles.

I'm always happy, sweet cheeks.

And you're looking particularly lovely today in pink, it's your color, just saying. ;-)
I would blame it on the high test pain pills, but didn't take one this afternoon, thanks for the reminder.

Oh yes, now that you are dressed for the occasion, and in a good mood, how about making good on that visit you were promising some time back to a certain parson in a prestigious, ooop's correction, the MOST prestigious neighborhood lakeside.

E Raq - I guess you've never been to Manzanillo although you said you've been to Karmina Palace. What great roads? A two lane road most of the way, then you get into the curvy mountains. A 5 1/2 hour drive NOT 3.5 hours and there's always construction. Rte 15 to PV is 4 lanes wide, the autobahn.

Same distance and time to Tenacatita to the Bed Bug Loco dump.

Doesn't matter, has anything changed in 10 years to make the drive faster? NOT. Now do you want to criticize the Admistrator for his answer of 5 1/2 hours? Go find something worthwhile to do.

The toll road from Guadalajara to Manzanillo is at least 80% 4 lane now. I drive to Barra de Navidad on a regular basis. The only 2 lane part is through the canyon at Atenquique. We made it to Barra in 3 hours and 15 minutes a week ago and Barra is 40 minutes further than Manzanillo. And Cuyutlán is about 20 minutes less than Manzanillo. Heading back to Guadalajara this Sunday and then back to the coast a few days later. I've driven the road well over 100 times. I also used to regularly drive the route through Autlan and even that road is only 4 1/2 hours to the coast.

Let them pass but the first time it is a little intimidating. They haul on the curves. Don't drive
MX200 at night also was the advice given me multiple times from multiple sources. Not a bad
road if you are use to curvy mountain roads. If you are not it is very doable but you won't like
it much but you will get there. Just pay attention and get out of the way of the locals and buses.

From Guad to Mx200 Exit.... it's like Nascar on the Toll Road... little bump, a little nudge, being passed at 100mph...
once yer off The Toll Road thru The Coastal Mountains... it's more like Le Mans... running up to 100mph and slowing down to 5mph for the Hair Pin Turns... The Buses make for a friendly distraction!!

Zed... Never been passed by a Bus in my Life....

Good Luck.... and Have Fun!!

I know but you don't drive a 1.4L Nissan Micra LOL.
If you were you would be passed trust me. The buses
have lots more power than I do.

Reminds me of the first time I drove through the Rockies on the way to Vancouver - 35 years ago. I was chased up the mountains by an 18 wheeler. I couldn't outdistance him.

I was driving a new Corvette!!!

Oh, and many thanks for the driving advice.

It would seem that you in fact are the one who has never visited the Karmina Palace, despite your disparaging post regarding it. I have not only been there once, I have been there 3 times. Once while visiting Colima, we went for a day. The second time we went with the entire family to Las Hadas, and the third time was this latest trip. Now try to talk your way out of this one. BTW, I think Seis knows his way around, or are you about to suggest that he doesn't really own a beach house.

Even at worst times in 6 years the drive from Melaque to Chapala has never been over 4.5 hours.

And "Bed Bugs"? ... nobody (not many) stays at Tenacatita, it's just (it was) a beautiful day on a beautiful beach

E Raq and David - We stayed at Karmiona Palace in the year 2010. It took 5.5 hours to get there. There was some construction on the highway, a few delays, but not long ones. The biggest reason I put it down was that they lied and wouldn't change rooms. Also, food, beach (NONE) and shows cannot compare to Occidental that we've gone to for years.

We stayed at Blue Bay Los Angeles (Bed Bug Hotel) in 2011. The bus driver took 5.5 hours to drive there. Maybe bus drivers are inept.

There is NO WAY you can drive to Manzanillo from Ajijic in 3 hours, maybe 4.5 at best.

What in hell are you blathering on about now? There is the pool hamburger and nacho snack bar, plus the Capri, right by the pools which is open for lunch, and so is the main restaurant, the buffet, also next to the pools which is open all day. In the premium lounge you get gourmet food and top brand liquors 24/7. Now tell us again about how you've actually been there why don't you?

We left Manzanillo on Monday, made three stops, one fairly lengthy and were home by 4:15. We left Manzanillo at precisely 12:45. There was some construction in a couple of areas.

Now why don't you tell us how crappy the breakfasts were why don't you?

You are lying here. Not only that but you can't even spell the name right. KARMINA, not Karmiona. Twisted Evil
