Exporting Google Drive to External Drive in Chrome OS
Trying to copy folders from Google Drive to external HD, obtaining message:
Copy Operation failed. The file or directory is not usable.
Not happening for all folders.
Please advise any suggestions as to a solution.

Seems to be a common problem with Chromebooks and USB drives. No simple solutions.

The one thing I did learn, after much prodding at Google that it will only copy certain file types, NOT Google docs or spreadsheets (these are only links to the Google Drive).
You can download files in these formats:
Documents: HTML, RTF, DOCX, OpenOffice, PDF, EPUB, Text
Spreadsheets: CSV, HTML, ODS, PDF, XLSX, TSV (only for a single sheet)
Presentations: PDF, PPTX, TXT
Drawings: PNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF
I suppose I shouldn't concern myself with the security or loss of my files on Google Drive, however I do like having a copy on my own External Hard drive.
