Swarm in Joco?

If you're interested in a few more photos and words about El Quinto Sabor (our fine, upscale Joco restaurant), I did a blog post about it. It really is quite fancy....not just for Joco! One thing you might want to consider is whether you would like brunch/lunch or lunch/dinner. They serve brunch/lunch until 1PM, but have lots of non-breakfasty things on the menu.....and the price is about half that of lunch/dinner.

A local restaurant owner we know ate dinner there last week and told us it was not be missed.
Great ambiance and excellent food. Dinner price was a little upscale as well, so your suggestion about breakfast/lunch might be a good idea.

The photos & review are very helpfull...HOWEVER, your put down of eating establishments here in Joco was pretty rude...Specifically, " I mean, in Joco, our finest dining places had previously been a place in a garage with plastic tables and chairs and a sandwich shop which is only open on weekends and serves, well, only sandwiches."...Are you not familiar with La Carreta? Cuba?,...I see lots of folks from Ajijic out here eating at the China Inn.

Looks like a wonderful place for a swarm and reviews have been very good.

Sorry, GBA, that you were offended. I was trying to be amusing, not rude or snide, and took a bit of editorial license in referring to the differences in ambiance. As you say, there are lots of great places to eat here in Joco!

Yeah, I kinda figured that....just didn't want to add to the stereotype that some up the lake have about Joco. Anyway, I'll go & get some menus & post them up.

I've eaten there & it really is excellent.

This is the menu that goes to 1pm..read closer...baguettes, club san, enchiladas, tacos, etc...If everybody wants to go for the later menu, let me know & I'll get it up.

Here's the after 1pm menu....

Well, their doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in this one so Jim, Deb,...guess it will just be us four plus anyone else that decides to show up. So what do you guys think?....want to do the before 1pm menu or the after 1pm menu?..sure hope more of you decide to come. It really is a very nice restaurant.

How about posting a review plus directions in the Food and Drink section GBA. We happened to drive through Joco yesterday and couldn't find it but only cruised a few of the busier streets. We did stop to ask an old geezer in the plaza and he said he had eaten there and it was great but couldn't remember where it was. jajajaja

Will do...If you read Lucky's post on page 1, she has a link to her blog that has great pics & her review. Further down, at the bottom of the first menu I posted a link that shows a map to the location. It's pretty simple...coming from Ajijic, when you get to the plaza (church will be on your left) you have to turn left...go 2 blocks to Juarez, turn left, & it's the first business on your left.
