Emergency Message for U.S. Citizens:
Heightened Security Alert Status in Jalisco
Date: September 06, 2012

The State of Jalisco has declared a heightened security alert status following Mexican military/police operations near the Providencia and Valle Real communities in Guadalajara. The Consulate recommends that all American citizens take precautions and be vigilant to news reports regarding events in the state of Jalisco until the situation returns to normal.

Local cops with a slowdown coming into Chapala from Ixtlahuacan at 3:30. Nothing on Lazara Cardenas at 3:00, or all the way from CostCo to the Alamo. Thank goodness.

We hauled a$$ from the courthouse at 3pm to Guad, not much traffic, few people out, I went home and not to the office, I think 6 corners is safer today than Providencia.

Ok, so for last night I guess no news is good news.
I will continue with caution for the weekend tho.

We were out today around 11:30-12:30. There were quite a few police vehicles (5-6?) at the pet store / vet in San Antonio. As we were headed west, 2 police vehicles (at separate times) sped past us with lights and sirens going. Didn't see where they were headed, but we saw other police lights on the east-bound side of the road, just past the west end of Ajijic. We turned off before then, so I'm not sure what was going on there. Not sure if any of this was related to the Code Red you're discussing... Just FYI.

Hmmm... the bad guys once again were not presented to the press, there will probably be another news item that it was a mistake, and certain people get richer and others reappear in the limelight while mysteriously disappearing when they catch the bad guys.
