Re: What's up with the confirmation code?
I have never heard of this before. If it happens again see if you can send me a screen shot to my e-mail. The only way I can think of this happening is if the system thought you were trying to post some sort of spam.

Re: What's up with the confirmation code?
It's the first and only time it's ever happened to me.
How do I take a screenshot? I'm not the brightest penny in the piggy bank when it comes to computer literacy.

"CTRL - PrtScn" simultaneously.
Then inside your image software (photoshop or whatever) Paste as New Image. Then save.

Many thanks, guess I'll have to wait for the big guy to come home. I have a mac, and it looks a bit complicated from what I could find on the web, you have to give it an IP address apparently. I guess iphoto might work for the image.

I use the Snipping Tool for Windows but it appears that there is something similar for Mac:

I didn't get the reference at the time but maybe he had the same experience as E-raq.
It occurs to me that I have seen similiar things on some boards when I attempted new posts in quick succession (under some arbitrary time limit). Maybe this forum software has that safeguard built-in as an anti-spam technique?

Re: What's up with the confirmation code?
Yes Axixic, that is probably what happened. If you post and then re-post too quickly the system thinks a spam robot is at work..........very good point.
Gracias

If that is the case, maybe the system is telling you that you didn't take adequate time to think about your post and proofread it properly?

Re: What's up with the confirmation code?
For everyone mac challenged such as myself, here's a quick and easy method, explained by a very nice young man BTW.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srnP0DWg-58
Now, I did manage to capture a screenshot, and it's on my desktop. A small miracle in itself. Now the really big question is, even if I'm on here and want to post it what do I do next?
I'm on here, and without signing off the computer entirely, I can't get at it or import it to here.

Here is the way to capture only a portion of your screen on a Mac:
ctrl+command (formerly the open apple key- just to the immediate left of the space bar) + 4
Hold those down and you will get a plus symbol
put the plus symbol in the upper left corner of where you want to highlight an area to capture.
hold down your mouse button and drag the now visible square to encompass what you want to capture.
voila! it should save on your desk top as a screen shot file
be aware that it captures the image as soon as you let go of the mouse button.

Re: What's up with the confirmation code?
For folks who don't know. All web sites that allow people to post and such have
to protect themselves from bad computer folks who want to post ads, put bad
things on our computers, post spam etc etc etc. CB is just saying the security
methods sometimes get triggered by innocent actions. Nothing more.

I was afraid of that, however it not being 6 o'clock it definitely had me fooled.
Plus, it's a truly excellent deterrent to PUI, posting under the influence.

We thought of that you have to reblow every hour. Not like driving! Your computer
is not going to wreck if we log you off for blowing .11!!
So remember don't drink and post! Hey we let you have a little buzz at .10. We could
have set it at .08 like NOB.
Z
P.S. I had my decimal point off one in my previous post. 1.0 is a hell of a buzz, or death for some folks. Hellevua error
my bad.
