CONFIRMATION CODE BOX?
What's the story on the box that pops up at the top of the page and asks for a confirmation code (those indecipherable letters) to be entered? Never saw that before.
This time around, I had to make three tries at it before it accepted an answer to a post. Fearless leader...............this is a real PITA!

I have no idea what you are talking about. I have never seen this before. Does anyone else see this?
Re: CONFIRMATION CODE BOX?
I logged out and logged back in to see if this would happen. Nope

Re: CONFIRMATION CODE BOX?
The only time a confirmation box is used that I know of is when a new member is registering.
Gringal, when exactly do you see this box?

Please.......I'm really not losing my marbles. It did it twice this morning when trying to reply to the Octogon......not on other threads. Just now, I did an Octogon post and it didn't do it..........so go figure. I just wondered where it came from. Who knows? Green cybermonkies drooling on the site??? Amateur hackers?

I have no idea. Perhaps there was something happening where the system thought added security was needed. This particular forum host has been very vigilant in keeping spammers out.

Oh fearless leader......I'm not much of drinker.......and surely not at 9 a.m.!
I suspect it was some kind of random event. Just wanted to check that you hadn't instigated it.

Re: CONFIRMATION CODE BOX?
Well please let me know if it happens again Gringal.
If any other members have had this happen I would like to hear about it with as many details as possible.

I tried every trick I know attempting to trigger such an event without any success. What happens in some cases, when a person attempts to log in one or more times with inaccurate info, then it will trigger a confirmation code. I tried that a number of times and couldn't make it happen. So who knows?

Between the strange stereo problems and the strange code box, I'd say you have someone from the other side trying to communicate with you....du,du,du,du...du,du,du,du

Maybe so.........and if so, I hope it's the little guy with the pot of gold at the end of the fabled rainbow...arriving in time for St. Paddys day.
But I doubt it. lol

To get your time correct - go to "Profile" tab above.
Then click on "Preferences" tab.
Now scroll down towards the bottom of the page and you will find where you set your time zone.
Then do a save and all will be good.

Re: CONFIRMATION CODE BOX?
I could understand a "confirmation box" for someone who hasn't posted in a while as a security measure but I can't understand why it would do that for Gringal. I am going to have to dig around.
Thanks for the info Joco Jerry.

Re: CONFIRMATION CODE BOX?
I went and consulted with the forum gods. They said that another way to trigger a "confirmation box" is to type a word that may be on the forum host's censor list. It could be a word that somehow triggers the "spam" sensor?? That is the only answer I could get for now.
