Puebla, Mexico Empty Puebla, Mexico

Since we had never been to Puebla before, we decided on three nights and two full days over a weekend for this visit. Puebla is Mexico's fourth largest city and certain aspects confirm this. The outskirts appear to be very industrial while the "centro" reflects the character one expects from a colonial city. We had made reservations at the Hotel Royalty right on the Zocalo. Even went so far as to request a room with a balcony overlooking the Zocalo to get the full impression. Comments on the hotel to follow in a separate post.

Starting with Friday night, we started walking the centro area to begin our education. After our visit to Tecali de Herrera on Saturday, more walking through centro after purchasing some umbrellas to deal with the rain. Sunday, we decided to leave our car in valet parking and started the day off by taking about a two hour double-decker tour bus ride ($85MXN) and well worth it! Sunday is a fairly dynamic day with markets (antiques, food, art, crafts, etc) set up all over the centro area and having seen them from the bus, we took off on foot after the ride.

We definitely learned some things about Puebla and will definitely visit again!
