Hotel Royalty - Puebla, Mexico Empty Hotel Royalty - Puebla, Mexico

We chose the Hotel Royalty (http://www.hotelr.com/english/) because it was right on the Zocalo but now that we have had the experience, we don't require a repeat. Without a doubt one can claim you are in the center of things but with that goes a certain intensity and varying noise levels, especially with balcony rooms overlooking the Zocalo. On Sundays, they completely close the boulevard in front of the hotel for the entire day and a large portion of the population comes there to party well into the night or even into the early morning hours on Monday. The most intense noise came from the 9 bells on the Cathedral across the way. At one point, they rang for 15 minutes straight and our room was vibrating the entire time!

The hotel could use a bit of updating but at $65USD (including tax), it is certainly a reasonable deal.
