Here without Tourist Visa
My friend arrived in GDL from Houston on a Turimex Executive Bus. The bus got the green light at customs in Nuevo Lardeo and passed through customs without stopping (I didn't even know this was possible!).
Consequently, my friend did not go through Immigration either and is here without a passport stamp or tourist visa; presumably that means he is in the country illegally.
Where would he go to get the appropriate visa for being in the country? Would he even be able to get back into the US without a stamped passport?
Thanks.

Re: Here without Tourist Visa
Update for general FYI:
I called Spencer's office and explained the situation; I was asked how long my friend was staying -- 'til Saturday -- and was assured there would be no problem, simply to explain at the border what happened. I was asked if he still had something to show that he was on the bus -- he does.
Problem solved, apparently -- though I got the impression that were he staying for a longer time, we would have needed a different solution.

Re: Here without Tourist Visa
Now that an answer has been furnished, I will relate what happened to an acquaintance at a different border crossing. She and her Mexican husband had a bit of confusion when crossing the border and long story short, she failed to apply for her proper documents. They were relocating to Guerrero State from Northern California and they managed to make it there without her being questioned. She went in to the INM office in Acapulco and explained and apologized for what she had done. While they fined her $100, they did process the proper documents along with a lecture about keeping them current. YMMV as different offices often handle matters differently.
