Tourist Visa Empty Tourist Visa

Has anyone had to go to the border and get a 180 day tourist visa. If so are they allowing them to be done again after it expires? Just looking for alternatives.

I have done it numerous times with varying degrees of ease or difficulty. Sometimes I have been able to turn in my car sticker and tourist visa and obtain a new one at the same time, and sometimes I have had the Immigration officer tell me I need to get an FM3. I know a lot of locals who do it. It is a pita but no serious issues so far. Good luck!
