Roof Dogs
Alright, what's the deal? There use to be dogs on 4 or 5 of the roofs in our neighborhood and now there are none. I thought it was just a fluke last year with them being gone but there are still aren't any. Surely this phenomenon isn't exclusive to our south Chapala neighborhood is it?

Re: Roof Dogs
Now that you mention it, I haven't seen any rooftop dogs looking down on me for quite some time.
Re: Roof Dogs
The one on my roof is still there in Ajijic. I was on a ladder working on cleaning
up all the dead wires a couple of months ago when I realized I had gone high
enough that the roof dog was about to either bite me or lick me. Luckily the dog
licked me and I am so glad I talked to this dog so he knew me. I have noticed
fewer roof dogs over the last few years.

What about the the roof top roosters in San Antonio on the Careterra close to Angelica's Bistro. There is a dog with them also.

Well Bob, that's because you live in the most exclusive neighborhood lakeside. All you might see up there would be a perfectly coiffed French poodle out for an afternoon sniff.CanuckBob wrote:Now that you mention it, I haven't seen any rooftop dogs looking down on me for quite some time.

Accompanied by a Butler in full livery ready to scoop up any leavings within a nanosecond so as not to violate the bylaws.....

It isn't the butler that picks it up, it's the responsible dog owners. That's why you won't step in any sh*t like you will in other places, like Fraccs and especially in the Village.

Re: Roof Dogs
Those who live in the most exclusive neighborhood are being denied the highly beneficial exercise we have in the Village. It is called appropriately, "Poop Jumping" and works just the way it sounds.
Those, BTW, like the poster above me who say "what poop" can generally be seen walking around the Village in rubber overshoes that are a mixture in color of black and s*** brown.

Saves the effort of "poop jumping". Hose 'em off when you're done.

Re: Roof Dogs
When the village hunkered down last month, the roof dogs and cholos were all called inside.

Now Bob, you would not let me bring Barney Bear with me this trip. Or you would have two dogs on your roof top for a few weeks.

Re: Roof Dogs
Mine was taken in Tonala last August. I have always threatened to put together a photo album of roof dogs but half the time when I spot them I am either driving or don't have a camera at the ready.

The four belong to Linda Richards who lives just down the street from me in Jocotepec. We are both big in the animal rescue scene.

Re: Roof Dogs
Thanks guys, just wanted to see if it was a south Chapala trend or what. There were many emaciated looking dogs on the roofs when we moved here and now there are none.

The Emo Roofdawg Moshpit Fiesta was a few weeks ago. They are inside now hiding from the sun and being morose.

Max is a roof cat. He loves our mirador and will practically knock us down on the way up there. All you have to do is ask him if he wants to go upstairs. His english is impeccable. He always pronounces and spells "meow" correctly!
