Roof Dogs
When we moved to Chapala there were a lot of roof dogs in our neighborhood and now there are none. We're hoping this is a trend as the dogs we could see from our mirador seemed to be leading a miserable life. We've also noticed when a dog becomes a nuisance by barking incessantly they only last about 3 weeks and then are never heard from again. While we can only imagine what is happening to the barkers we're wondering if anyone else is seeing fewer roof dogs in their neighborhoods?

Yea they seem fewer in number in Center lower Ajijic compared to a few years
ago but I still see many in West Ajijic. We do have two or three in next to the
plaza but they are not big barkers and I actually like my neighbors roof dog but
he does let him out and he is not neurotic about barking like many.

Re: Roof Dogs
many years ago...
I believe it might have been our first trip to Mexico... we were visiting PV for the first time...
after a few days touring around, we were beginning to get our bearings...
travelling from the hotel zone to downtown, we took a shortcut that brought us a couple of blocks behind the Malecon...
we walked in back of what had to be several restaurant establishments...
two or three fellas were carrying a huge ( dead ) dog out of one of these places....
when they saw those four slack jawed gringos watching what they were doing... they all started to laugh...
I'm guessing they knew what we were all thinking... '' Tacos??? "
