CBob - The thunder and lightning storms are spectacular here. Torrential rain and fork lightning bolts hitting the Lake vertically, sometimes 2 bolts at the same time. Quite a sight. We don't lose power too often as we have 2 separate transformers for the 19 homes in the Community.

One of the first years here as we sat on the roof we watched three different lighting storms collide at one time, just spectacular. So many lighting strikes one couldn’t count and now I completely understand why there are so many lighten rods. (Yeah, the roof, perhaps that wasn’t the brightest move?)

And also remember what happens when some of that lightening hits power, telephone, or cable lines close to your home. The electrons try to make it to the ground. And on the way if the lightening strike was close enough, and if you don't have a surge protector (I didn't say voltage regulator) there is a chance that a surge of that electricity might rush through some of your very expensive electronics, frying same trying to get to the ground.

Yes I have too many surge protectors, but better too many than too few.

Sumbitch, a day late and a mop short. Ricardo spent the better part of the afternoon yesterday 'splainin the discrepancy and after consulting his pocket Mayan calendar found a typo! Actually, I did mean 4:00 p.m., not a.m. I was 11.5 hours off, not 30 minutes. Since the prize is a mop and not cash, I feel totally comfortable in being completely honest. Think there must be someone closer to the time than me. BTW what is a mop? And how do I use one of the icons? Everytime I click on one, I just get a number, but no smiley face or whatever.
