Thank you.
When you go on a public forum and tell everyone you are taking your car to an expensive car wash, aren't you kind of making it everybody's business and indirectly, if not overtly, asking for other opinions.
I have never understood why people who go public with any event in their lives on these forums wonder why they get responses.
In answer to your item #3...I would say you did.[/quote]
No dear, I am simply making a statement that when I get my car washed, regardless of price, it always rains, and I could have got it for free, as previously and eloquently explained by Axixic.
I never ask for opinions unless I know the person really well and also know that they are an expert in the subject.
Maybe it's a Canadian thing.

Well, if everbody would abide by those rules, it would cut down on the posting tremendlously. LOL
Maybe Bob should have a key that says: opinion wanted/ no opinion wanted.
I realize that John is quick to reply with his opinions but that you let him get his foot in the door.
Not defending John's opinion at all about whether the car wash is expensive or cheap...really don't care.
You won't get anymore opinions out of me...been properly warned, as you don't know me and I certainly am not an expert.

I did indeed set myself up, as you rightly pointed out, however in my defense, I am also pretty sure that John is not an expert on car washing. However if I'm wrong, I am absolutely certain that John will have a new sticky in short order with HIS expert opinions on car washes in and around Ajijic. LOL.

When you originally made your statement about it being expensive, you didn't say that you could have waited for rain and thus it would be free. Rain washing your car is not the same as a high pressure wash with soap and water. I have never seen rain, no matter how torrential, wash a car as well as a car wash, otherwise car washes wouldn't exist.

Oh yeah, right, we noticed by all your previous sarcastic posts under your former name of raqueteer. You may be able to fool the newbies with that stuff, but not the oldies who remember your discussions.

Are you absolutely sure that you haven't had a wee tipple. Everybody knows my previous handle, I hardly tried to hide it.

If you mean too much to drink, the answer would be no, unlike the other drinkers on here. I do not drink. Ask CBob if you don't believe me. I went to the Bored meeting, his parties and he's been here for Dinner.

Now,now, John, while Dawg is not your enemy, Dawg started drinking 57 or so years ago in about 1955 and knows with certainty that closet drinking is a fine and accomplished art whether one was raised in Metropolitan Montgomery, Boston or some wolf´s lair in CB´s frozen tundra so don´t be bullshitting the bullshiters. Come clean and you´ll sleep better as the night wears on.
Dawg, for one, welcomes back e-raq who has been sorely missed if for nothing more than entertainment value as well as intellectual challenge. Dawg even finds you amusing from afar, John so my tastes are eclectic.
Dawg is summering in Paris drinking fine wine and French distilled spirits of superior manufacture but I got my French family by
marriage loaded on margaritas made with the best Herradura Tequila so the relationship is symbiotic. I´ll return soon so Doctor Dawg will be open at lakeside to help you overcome these frivolous denials about the value of spirits to the soul.

John, not to belabour the point and said with all due respect but you are coming off rather obtuse here. Of course rain doesn't wash a car as well as a carwash The idea that it "always rains after I wash my car" is a comedic device and surely you know that - just as another poster on this board laments that the exchange rate always worsens when they are ready to change money - I'm sure it isn't always true but it is a funny comment on their luck - just as the rain and the carwash.
This is a thread ABOUT rain - surely the context provides a means of understanding the humour.
Again, no disrespect intended.

Re: What date will it rain?
the best car wash I've ever had in Mexico was when I was headed back to Villa Nova a few years back ....as we approached the crest of the hill , the traffic had slowed to a crawl .... workers for the new 2 story building on the mountain side had hit a water main in the parking lot and a solid stream of water was shooting up over 2 stories high and falling back on the parking lot
I pulled out of line and slowly drove under the falling torrent of water ...the noise was incredible ! ....I thought the volume was going dent the roof on " Maya the mud pie " ....as I pulled out from under the water and put on the wipers , I was met by all the workers laughing and applauding ..... "Maya " was never that clean before or since ....

Good to see you are alive, well and thriving in the land of fine cheeses, excellent wines, and superb cuisine. Please give my best regards to your bride. We have also missed both of your viewpoints in these remote parts of Peoria upon Sump, and hope you will return as soon as humanly possible to extol the virtues of spiritual sustenance, by which I mean the liquid variety. ;-)

Sorry I was off on the 20 minute bit, however I can smell that wet earth scent even in my smoke laden study, and we've been hearing thunder for about half an hour at least.
I do believe that true braggin' rights may very well belong to you.

Re: What date will it rain?
After just spending 40 years in the Pacific North"Wet" and not being here in Chapala very long yet we are not ready for torrential rains however we do want to witness some of the great thunder and lightening.
Re: What date will it rain?
Well, it was all talk and no action. Sure looked good for a while there though. CBob, the thunder and lightening will be spectacular from where you are staying. I just hope that the electricity doesn't go out as well.
One of the main reasons that we moved from Riviera Alta was the number of electrical outages they had...no electricity equals no water there. I can do without the electricity but being without water was a pain in the butt. We were without electricity there more times in one year than in the previous sixteen that we have lived in Mexico. Somethin' wrong with that picture.
